Well last night I decided it would be an awesome start to our trip to do an Illuminations cruise, our first night in WDW. We have an adr at Cape May so it would be totally convenient and a really memorable way to begin our week. So this morning we called and the cruises are booked that whole week I am so disappointed! I know people tend to cancel these a lot so it could still happen but it kind of took the wind out of my sails.

So then I decided we'd do the luau as something different that first night. Well guess what? They don't do the luau on Sunday nights ( I did add that later on in the week though) So I am looking for some suggestions on something to do our first night that isn't in a park. I know you guys are all experts so how about some suggestions.........PLEASE?.....

I actually thought about that but Caitlin was concerned we'd be the only people there without little kids

What about a carrage ride? I've heard those are nice. Not exactly as exciting as a fireworks cruise, but it could be nice.

That's a nice idea. We stayed at POR twice and POFQ once and yet we've never done that. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!

So we have some news to share......I know a couple weeks ago Caitlin mentioned on here that she was going to an interview weekend at a YMCA camp to apply to be a camp counselor. Well last night she got an email offering her a job She is really excited and this should be a really memorable summer. The camp is only a Monday morning til Friday morning camp so she'll be home on the weekends and it will last about 7 weeks. She gets out of school in late April and then will have a month and a half until her job starts and then when camp finishes she'll have a month until classes start back up. This should give her some nice downtime before and after

I know most of you know she/we are involved with the Big Give well she was really excited when she learned that the camp has special weeks for kids dealing with unique challenges. One week they have kids who have battled cancer, another week is kids dealing with Sickle Cell and another is kids who have parents serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. I will miss her but I can't wait to hear all the tales she's going to have to share!

Congrats on securing the Spirit Of Aloha dinner show later in the week , I can't wait to hear your feedback on it !

It's not a Fireworks cruise but what about doing one of the behind the scenes tours ?

Congrats to Caitlin on the job !! Sounds like she get work with a lot of kids from very different backgrounds , should be very interesting

I was up for the fireworks cruise but ever since people were guessing her as 14 on her hs grad trip she is leery of doing anything where people might think she's a kid

Thanks! We did the luau years ago when Caitlin was little. We thought it would be fun to try again. We're going to have to pay a couple meals oop but since we have free dining I figure we're still getting off cheaper. I did think about a tour but they don't have any evening ones. We did decide that if Harry Potter World doesn't get good reviews we're going to use our Universal day to do a tour instead.

Caitlin will be having a memorable summer I'm sure. It will be challenging and rewarding and probably a lot like parenthood

So Disney announced today that the Wishes Dessert Parties are coming back starting next week! I really want to do this and immediately called but they aren't booking just yet. We were told to call back later or in a day or two. I am really hoping this is available for our trip! Fingers crossed!

LOL When I came to the disboards today and saw that I thought immediately of you all and was gonna mention it to you Great minds must think alike I hope you are able to book it the food looks so yummy and where u view it from looks perfect !

I just read on here that they are now booking for this and after 15 minutes on the phone was told they are only booking through the month of May I really hope this gets extended and we can do this on our MK day!
