I was contemplating booking the Akershaus princess breakfast or lunch for DS (5), DH, grandma, grandpa, and me (mom). DS likes the princesses. When he was 3, at the dentist, he picked out the Disney princess toothbrush, because "they are pretty." And, he can be a bit of a flirt. Not that I'm wildly encouraging of flirting at his age...even though his dad kind of is.

So, anyways, if we took him to the princess character meal, do you think he would feel totally out of place? Do the princesses stop at all the tables to take pictures? Or, any other character meals besides Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's that boys might enjoy?

Thanks for advice!

If asked, DS5 is not too crazy about the princesses... but he seems to want to play along... I have pictures of him willingly hugging Cinderella and Belle.... and getting a kiss from Snow White which he was eager to wipe off his cheek! But corrected by Snow White.... who said, "you can wipe away the lipstick but a kiss from a princess stays there forever!". We are going to Akershus next trip... but have not done Cinderella's Round Table (looks too girly...)... but 1900 Park Fare Dinner was nice too. DS likes the stepsisters!

DS liked Ohana character breakfast with Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch.... and Garden Grill with Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale... both of these a lot! Hollywood and Vine's breakfast was great too -- DS liked Dancing with Agent Oso. Food good at all three!

I don't know if he would feel out of place...I didn't want to risk it...

My son is turning 5 on this trip, so he still likes Winnie the Pooh as well as Mickey....

we are going to do
-Crystal Palace (breakfast, we did dinner before)
-Donald Safari Breakfast
-Chefs de France (hoping to see Remy, my son loves to cook, but I think he will be impressed that Remy works there even if we don't see him)
-Sci Fi Diner (to eat in the cars and see the old movies-he enjoyed this when he was 3)
-1900 Park Fare breakfast...he loves Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter, can't get him to watch Mary Poppins

My son also enjoyed T-Rex when he was 3 (not on DDP), Rainforest Cafe is also neat if you don't have any near you

You could also consider something like 50s PTC, WCC, or even HDDR which is not "characters" but might be entertaining

Go to youtube and type boy at 1900 park fare and you will get a couple of cute videos. Cinderella made such a fuss over these boys!! If I had a boy i would definitely take him to a princess meal, but, I must warn you that he might leave that meal talking about his first "crush".

we did Akershus for breakfast just to get into Epcot before opening. My son got a kick out of it. It's an awesome breakfast and they made such a stink over him especially since he was the only child at the table!

How about 1900 Park fare dinner? Cinderella is there., but so is Prince charming, the step mother and the sisters so there is variety lol!

The Breakfast at 1900 has Alice mary poppins and Mad hatter, and I think that could be fun for him. He would like Alice and Mary poppins, and the pic with mad hatter would be fun. Plus it's just a momrail or boat ride away from Mk so it is easy!

My son was about 6 weeks shy of 5 when we went to Akershus for his sister. I really thought he wouldn't enjoy it at all, but he *loved* it. They really do play up to the little boys and he *LOVED* the attention. I would absolutely take your son.

This time, we're doing both CRT and Akershus. I fully anticipate that he'll enjoy those as much as the ones that we have planned for him.

If your son likes Princesses, esp if he's a flirt, then heck YES bring him there!! He'll have a blast!! No table is ignored at a character meal. So dont worry about that. Your son will have a blast!! The princesses will pay special attention to him. While dining at 1900, i noticed a family of 4 with 2 boys. You should see the attention they got....they loved every minute of it! haha! Your son will have a lot of fun im sure. ;)

OP your son sounds alot like my son. We have our share of Princess toothbrushes. We went to Akershus when my son was 4 years old for the first time and he requests it everytime we go to Disney. He thinks the princesses are sooooo beautiful but clams up every time the come near him. :) Luckily I got a few good pictures.

The Princesses will all stop at your table and if your son isn't shy I bet he will get alot of attention. I say go for it!

I took my 6 and 8 year old boys to lunch at Akerhus because *I* wanted to eat with the princesses and they grumbled a bit at first but then had a great time. They both ended up enjoying themselves and told me after that they hadn't minded it after all. We certainly weren't the only family there with boys, so no, he won't look out of place. All the princesses were great about talking to the "princes" at our table!

Mom of 3 boys...I drag them to all the princess meals! The smirks on their faces and the kisses left on cheeks tells the story they will never admit to!

My DS 3 and 5 enjoyed Akershus w/ their sister. The princesses ham it up with the boys. I have a friend who has taken her DS to CRT x2 w/ sister and he enjoyed it too. At CRT they get a sword as a souvenier.

My nephew always loved the princesses too!
