OK so i have to reservations for our first night...
I plan on visiting Epcot.

Which place would you choose....
Princess Akershus or Chef Mickey.

We fly in around noon and will be staying at ASMu
Princess made for 4:30 and Chef for 5:30
My dd5 has severe Peanut and Tree nut allergy and is fairly picky

Favorite characters... Mulan, Cinderella, Chip and Dale, Minnie
We are staying 6 nights.

Have you reviewed the menus. Chef Mickey is a buffet, and the Princess Storybook dinner is buffet for appetizers and you order an individual entree. With the allergies you mentioned is buffet more or less a risk? The menus are available on this site along with the allears.net site. Mulan may or may not be at Norway but is she is not she is just down the road at China. Minnie was at Chef Mickeys when we were there but not Chip and Dale. Chip and Dale can be found at the garden Grill in Epcot, but like Minnie they are pretty popular and you can find them at multiple parks. We liked the interaction and the princess meal better Chef Mickey seemed rushed, but we also have 2 princesses and a Queen Mum (that would be me) plus my DH thought Jasmine was pretty cute

We always go with CM - it's a constant family favorite. We also like the food better. The last time we ate at Akershaus we did not enjoy the food - VERY Norwegian (go figure!). However, I think the food choices have become more Americanized since the addition of the Princesses. All in all, Chef Mickey's is the choice for us....be sure to try the Parmesan Mashed Potatoes!

What did you like at the princess meal?
What did your princesses eat?

That one does work better for what i had planned....
Just putzing around epcot ...kinda a non rushed day where if we go to CM then i will be watching the clock trying to figure out when we had to leave blah blah.

Thanks for the input all!

We prefer the Princess Storybook Breakfast. We found all the food at Chef Mickey's to be swimming in grease, but not so with the Princess Breakfast.

But for dinner, we prefer Chef Mickey's. If you do not like or are not accustomed to Norwegian food, you may not like it.

Good luck with your decision.

The one thing I really liked was their were cold cuts, cheese, fruit, normal stuff on the appetizer bar (there was also some Norwegian specialities, DH ate those and liked them) and they were able to have food on their plates right away. Proactively elminating the where is my food comments, I think they got a hot dog and cheese pizza (they had a regular kids menu type stuff chicken fingers etc) as their main course. DH got the Traditional Kjottkaker thing it was good and I got ribs (go figure). I did not see the childs menu posted but I know they have it I will see if I can find it. Also you get a free photo at Norway now!! We saw Cinderella, Ariel in a beautiful ballgown, Jasmine, Aurora and Belle. Then we just walked down the street and saw Snow White and Dopey in Germany, then Mulan and Mushu in China. Got all their autographs and photos in less than 2 hours.

I love Chef Mickeys too!!! Maybe call them to see about the allergy thing with all those foods being set out and peanuts and traces of peanuts seem to be in a lot of stuff, I would just check with them to see what might be safe. Disney being Disney will have a plan for that I just have a good friend who has the peanut allergy and she is challenged sometimes at buffets.

Here you go

Thanks so much!
I think we are going to be brave and go for Norway! :flower3:

thanks for the input it has helped me make my decision!

I just wanted to make sure MY princess would have something good to eat and it seem she has some choices she likes so we should be all set!

Be advised that Akershus requires a credit card guarantee. If you don't show or cancel 24 or 48 hours before (can't remember which but I know it's one of those), you'll be charged $10 per person. Chef Mickey's does not require such a deposit. I personally would not want to fly in and then be bound to eat somewhere or have to pay a fee. Your flight can be delayed.
