Princess Adventure Breakfast vs Goofy's Kitchen??

I have a Princess Adventure breakfast reservation booked for 8:20 am on 09/08 - it is for my BFF's 30th birthday, so a special occasion splurge. At the time I booked it, DL was listed to open at 9 am - but now it is opening at 8 am. I really really don't want to miss that amazing first of the day hour in the parks...but I also want a special kick off to our birthday celebration. (I know its expensive - its a splurge so I'm not quite as concerned on the cost/value comparison - moreso the experience I guess?).

Goofy's Kitchen has 7:15'ish am reservations available (last time I checked lol) - opinions on if the princess breakfast is worth the time sacrificed? Maybe we can realistically be in DL by 9:15'ish...

Any thoughts or insights are welcome! Thanks!

You’ll likely remember the breakfast more than what rides you rode early in the day. I would do whichever breakfast would be more special for the birthday person, and not worry about rushing out.

I haven't done the current princess breakfast but the one they used to have at Ariel's grotto was amazing and a real highlight of our trip. The princesses were wonderful & the food was really good. I have heard that the new one does take a couple of hours.

We've done Goofy's, too. The food is good and the characters were fun. They didn't do hugs or autographs, just stopped at the table to wave and we took some cute pictures. Goofy's would only take 30-60 minutes. We did lunch there last time and it was about 45 minutes. They gave DD a cupcake and sang for her birthday.

Have you considered Minnie's, or do you specifically want to have breakfast before you're in the park? You could have a snack before you rope drop, then have breakfast at Minnie's at 10:30 or so when you're ready for a break.

Are you getting there that morning or the night before? You could do dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen (they have characters during dinner).

The princess breakfast lasts hours. I would not do that on a day you’re itching to get into the parks.

I personally think breakfast is such a waste of time if you’re going to the parks after because you’ve basically wasted some or all of the golden first two hours when crowds are low and line are very short.

I would recommend Storytellers brunch for around noon or so and treat it like lunch. If you rope drop you’ll be ready for a break anyway and the brunch is pretty good. (Though for *me* I would much rather do Lamplight Lounge brunch, offered Fri-Sun only and difficult to get.)

I would NOT waste early park hours for any out of the park long sit down breakfast.

I like the idea of storytellers for brunch though
Brunch goes until 1:30, so if you could push it for as late as possible? Like 1:15?

We are doing the Princess Adventure Breakfast at the same time slot next week, but it's on our last day, so I think we will be ready to slow down a little. We also have three princess loving grandkids with us. I figure it will save us some time in the parks for them wanting to do princess meet and greets, I can just say we will see some princesses at the breakfast!
They have all decided to dress up for the occasion.
It's for the experience for us, to be sure. Two of the kids are super picky eaters and probably won't even touch most of the food. I'll have some cereal squirreled away in my bag just in case

I'll report back what time we ended up in the park.

I wonder if Plaza Inn will start offering breakfast earlier when early entry starts?

I would NOT do Goofy's for an adult special event. If you could get into Storyteller's that would be my second choice to the Princess Adventure. We really enjoyed the Princess Adventure last Sept. Good luck with your decision. Maybe you could move it to a day you aren't wanting an early day at the park.

My BFF and I set aside time for doing the Princess Breakfast (it's her fav) so we actually plan to spend 3 hours there and it's on a day that we don't go into the park. For us, the breakfast is part of our tradition now and we really love it. I would say if you'd rather be in the park, then perhaps drinks at Oga's Cantina and/or dinner at Blue Bayou could be another option.

We just did the princess breakfast. It is an amazing experience with top notch food and service. We were there for two hours. It is not an experience to be rushed. I would love it for a special occasion…. It just depends on what your goals are for the day. Do you want to have a beautiful breakfast with mimosas, great food, excellent service and princesses? Or do you want to get into the parks and start riding rides?

I would not do Goofy’s for an adult special occasion. We haven’t been impressed with Goofy’s the last few times we’ve been. Haven’t been to storytellers in awhile, so can’t comment on that. There are some nicer restaurants like Carthay etc that may be good for a special occasion meal.
