Ladies, I just got through reading all the way through the posts...what an inspirational and encouraging group we have here. I am IN for the 2013 Princess. I started last night with the Couch to 5k again. I struggled a bit, but I was able to finish and walk two extra miles. I have quite a bit of weight to loose, but I can't think of a better way to do it than to prepare for what looks to be THE funnest race ever. It will be my first. I cannot wait!!! The thought of running through the castle brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. I will be running the race by myself, but my aunt will be there to cheer me on.I hope everyone is doing good on their training and having a wonderful Easter weekend.
I've got my calendar marked also! This afternoon when I was tired of walking, I just kept thinking about the PHM, and kept going.
Anyway, I totally agree with you - every time I think about coming out of the castle, I get all misty. Thinking about seeing the Sphere or the Gospel Choir at Epcot gets me misty. I recently did an 8.6 mile March of Dimes walk, and when I got to the end, I got misty! It was my first foray into the world of group walking/running, and I was just SO frakkin' proud of myself, I did cry a bit! I expect that I will blubber like a baby when they put that medal around my neck, and you know what, I'll be smilin' while I'm cryin'!
Everyone have a great Easter! I'm off to do a few miles outside - it's gorgeous out today!
Registration starts July 10 at noon. Running down Main St. is sooo cool! There are tons of people there cheering on all the runners.

to our little princessy part of the DIS!
If you are not quite ready for the Couch program, I had really good success with Jeff Galloway's Conditioning Program. I started with this, then worked my way up to C2K5 (I'm on week 1), then when I finish that, I'll go to Jeff's generic half-marathon training (also on his site), then around the time I finish THAT, I'll be right on target to use his Princess Half Marathon training plan (that will be on the RunDisney website later this year).
WHEW! Just thinking about it makes me tired!!!

Running through the castle is so amazing! This year as you entered through the back they had trumpeters up on the balcony. It was like they were announcing the arrival of every princess!

HI Everyone!
I have not been on here in a long time, but I just wanted to say that I am so excited, I have lost #29 so far. I know I have a long way to go, but I can do this! I finally feel like I am on track to loose alot of this weight and work the process of training. I am doing some running on the treadmill, but mostly walking right now. I have made some great changes and look forward to when I can officially start training!
I too am looking forward to parts of the race. For me it is running down mainstreet. I get very teary eyed when I watch the youtube videos and see that, I can't wait for it to be me!

I don't know which plan we will use for the run/walk. We both work at a school (in admin) and the track coach/Athletic Director has been helping us. She gave us a plan to start with and it will be modified as we progress.
Right now we are just concentrating on distance and time. So far we have brought our times down. We are averaging about 18min/mile which is a huge improvement!! And we do about 3 miles a day (3 times a week) and so far we have hit the 5 mile mark and that was last Saturday. We will keep at this pace for a bit then start to increase a little. We have inspired a few people to walk with us when they can. So we are losing weight, getting healthy and having fun...al because of Disney!![]()
Well ladies, it is only 10 months until the race weekend we are all striving for!!! I hope yall are having a great day. I plan to spend some time at the gym today or at the local college running/walking.![]()
