Primo Piatto only available to Riviera guests?

I was clicking around in MDE checking out hours and menus at my favorite places and got a pop up message on the Primo Piatto Mobile Order page: "At this time, mobile ordering from Primo Piatto is only available to guests staying at Disney's Riviera Resort."

The weird thing is, once I click "ok" to clear the message, it looks like I could still place a Mobile order...

Does anyone know what's going on with this? I'm not at Disney now, but in January I *definitely* want to eat at Primo Piatto.

I saw that message appear on the app earlier this week, but yesterday we stopped by in the middle of a Skyliner ride, and mobile ordered some Romano and Herb Fries (which were yummy). We are not guests of the resort.

So it seems like this comes and goes. Maybe busier days, or busier times of day, are when they're using the message.

No idea, though, about whether you could actually go through with the order after clicking "ok". If you try it in January, let us know, lol!

Even though the message appears it still allows you to place a mobile order. I had the same message for the Contemporary appear at the Contempo Cafe when we were walking back from MK earlier this year and it still let me place an order.

Thank you both! Maybe they hope the message will deter enough people from ordering to make a difference? I just can't imagine going to Disney and not getting the Spicy Italian sandwich XD

The way the crowds are right now the manager of PP may come to you and pick you up for your meal...:)

I doubt this will continue October 1st as they go back to enforcing the "rules", but it seems the rule was to prevent resort hopping by car. I don't know what would stop you from traveling to RR via the Skyliner or bus and ordering? Others who've experienced this during busier times should chime in. Not 100% the same, but, we were there in May, not a guest, and arrived by Skyliner for dinner at Topo. No one blinked or asked as we sat down at Bar Riva for a cocktail.

We ate at PP this week. Checked for mobile order while on the Skyliner and got the message about only Riviera guests being able to mobile order, but hit the ok button and it seemed like we could have gone ahead with an order (but we didn't). Checked again from inside the lobby - hubby got the message again on his phone, but I didn't get it on mine. We did order from my phone, and when we got there, the place was mostly empty. I suspect we could have ordered from his phone even though he got the message.

We had a delicious meal, btw - gluten free pizza and the greek salad. Highly recommended.

I went to PP in July, walked right in after placing my order. There was no one there to check with me that my order was ready (as there had been at the theme parks). I just took a seat and waited for them to call my name/text me that my order was ready. This was around 1:30, and the eatery was at most 25% full. Maybe dinnertime is a different story, and they do count on scaring some people off with their message. BTW, I got that message at the Poly's Captain Cook's, but I ignored it and ordered when I got there, then waited until the buzzer they handed me buzzed. Shhhh! I was an illegal, from VGF-luckily no one asked.

It's to discourage people from parking at the resort (using mobile order as an "excuse" to park) and then taking transportation to a park. Even if they allowed you to mobile order, if you were driving, security could technically still not let you in if they wanted. If you are arriving via Disney transportation, this isn't really an issue.

I just asked this on a different thread because I saw that same pop up notice when looking through QS menus. I have eaten at PP 3x in the past when not staying there and was thinking about doing the same this coming visit (Oct) when I went through all the DHS QS menus and saw nothing I would like (they got rid of everything we liked at Docking Bay). Every time I have eaten there, the place was empty so didn't get why they would do this. And, I was wondering how they enforce this.
I noticed this same notice for Contempo Cafe earlier in the year.

They don’t enforce it if you arrive by Disney transportation or on foot. They just use it to enforce resort parking restrictions (and rideshare drop-off restrictions), especially around park opening time.

Thank you everyone for all the good info about the pop-up message. I'm so relieved to know I can ignore it and still eat my traditional arrival day QS meal (as long as I use Disney transportation).

So glad I found this thread. We just booked a last minute vacation starting 10/29 and definitely want to eat there but saw the pop up message. So glad to know we can ignore and still eat there.

You can also order pretty much the same menu at the bar! Love the food there.
Yes, I was just thinking I might do that next time. Bar Riva is so lovely and I always order a drink there before getting my food at Primo anyway.
