primevil whirl

No big drops but maybe 2-3 smaller ones. If he likes BTMRR, I don't see him having a problem with PW.

My son was 7 when we went on the ride last fall. He is usually very apprehensive about "thrill" rides - but he loved it. I went on it with him and thought it was great - it really is mild, in terms of dips and drops - more of a "wild mouse" carnival ride. Hope this helps!

My DS,also 7, who really likes Space Mountain,Big Thunder, and even Rockin' Roller Coaster liked Primevil Whirl. Now he is SCARED :scared: silly of Tower of Terror. The drops are not too bad but the ride itself is very jerky. So Dh and I put our Ds between us.

thanks for your thoughts everyone - I am hopeing to work him up to space mountain. Before this year my DS7 would not even consider goffys barnstomers, but then he wnet on some quite scarey rides at six flags, Iso i am hoping :cheer2:

If he go on the coasters at six flags, he get work his away on the Primevil Whirl. It's actually spinning so much, you don't know if your dropping or even what direction your in, haha

If he likes Thunder Mountain, then Primeveal Whirl should be perfect for him. Just pretty jerkey, so not for someone with neck problems!

For kids it's probably fun...put more than one adult on that ride and it's an injury waiting to happen

Sorry but we hated this ride.

Its far too jerky. We are all coaster fans, but this ride just isnt fun at all.

We all came off bruised and battered. Myself, DH, DS11 and DD8. We thought my kids would be old enough! They were miles higher than the height restrictions. To think that smaller kids can ride this is insane.

My DD was crying in pain, I was sure I'd busted a rib!!

Do not compare this ride to BTMRR!!!

Don't forget that the kids have to be 48" tall.....(going with my DD7 and she's not tall enough :( )

Very true, not BTMRR at all! I was sitting next to a pooh-sized friend of mine and because of the short stops the ride makes, my leg smashed against the heavy metal sides of the car AND I couldn't breathe. We laughed at it later, but for about an hour I had to sit down and just rest (and vent my frustrations at this deathtrap)

how much spinning is involved with this ride :crazy2: I hate the tea-cups!!

A LOT of spinning. It is not the drops at all, it is the constant spinning. This is the only ride in all of WDW that all four of us (myself (40) dh (44) ds (9) and dd (6) all did not like. And ds got sick afterward, sorry to say. Only ride that happened on -- (we didn't do any simulators, though.) Teacups did not bother us a bit, but Primeval Whirl did. I would go on it again, but I don't think anyone else in my family would.

i liked it but then i am crazy....what i want to know is do you spin it or does it just spin..we were on with a little boy ( totally stranger which considereing no one esle was even in line i thought odd of the cm to put us all in one car but..) we were spinning like crazy. i didn't know if he was doing somethng or what but once we started spinning( in the very beginning) i don't think we stopped the entire time

It's like putting a tilt-a-whirl on a roller coaster. Should be tame enough for a brave 7 year old but it's not worth a long wait in line.

This was a VERY uncomfortable ride. You get all banged up and its not fun at all. I love roller coasters, but this one was WAY too bumpy.

Why did they add this ride to Animal Kingdom? Seems like a cheap quick fix for a lack of attractions in the park... I will be going to WDW in 3 weeks, but this is not really one I will worry about riding... Am I missing something fun about the ride?

I don't think your missing anything fun about this ride. It is a very jerky ride, not very comfortable at all. DH and I both went on it and didn't care for it. Not saying I wouldn't do it again because I know when my DS6 is tall enough he will want to go on. He cried when he was 4 cause he couldn't go on with his dad and cousin. I skipped it that trip because he couldn't go on and on an adult only trip DH went on, only because I wanted to go on.
