Primeval whirl is the equivilent of a 'Crazy Mouse' type coaster which looks like it could be based on the 'Mousetrap Game some of us older folk played as a kid
If you have been to any of the Paramount Parks (ie King Dominion and Carowinds) - it is very similar to 'Richocet' and if you have been to Myrtle Beach they have a similiar coaster at the Pavilion....
No fast but has hairpin turns which can give you the sensation of tipping over.... but mild in rollar coaster standards..
i thought it was fun but lots rougher than i thought, not a kiddie ride . also it is like a wild mouse where it looks like you are going to go over the edge of the track so to me that is more disconcerting than rnr! give me an inversion over going off the edge anytime!
It was fun to a degree, not scary at all. It does look as tho you might go over the edge a time or two, but you know you won't. I just found it to be a tad too rough and I can't stand that part of AK anyway.
It's definitely not scary but watch out if you have motion sickness. I had no idea it spun like it did. And at one point you are at a constant spin while it zig zags down the track. I love roller coasters but not when they spin.
I thought it was really lame. Our car didn't spin much, I never got the "falling off the edge" feeling and the ride lasted about 10 seconds (OK, slight exaggeration, but it is a VERY short ride).
OK, I am a wimp and plan on doing this again. We put the boys in the middle of us to try and balance it. At the end you do spin around and we went down backwards and then it is over. Did not think I liked going backwards but you can not see where you are going and this way I will "fall" out
Me and DH rode it during our "adults only " WDW trip!!! I laughed hysterecly(sp) the whole time!!!! DH laughed too, but I think he was laughing at ME!!!LOL!!!
I love this kind of ride, but made the mistake of riding Primeval Hurl in the blazing noon summer sunshine. It finished me for the rest of the day. If you're sensitive to spinning, would highly recommend riding not at full noon.
I had always sworn that I'd never ride Primevel Hurl! I rode it this year with DS8 and giggled the whole time! I can't ride the tea cups at all, but I can't wait to ride this again!
