I couldn't help but post an experience from our last trip when riding the Primeval Whirl attraction at the AK. Typically this thing is bumpy and rough on the back/neck, but this time it spun us like a top! Here's a video clip to give you an idea...it spun so fast and for so long that I thought we were going to lose it. Even the video is blurry because of the speed!

I don't ever remember it being this bad...

I've heard it described as the teacups on steroids. I haven't done the teacups in years, although that may have more to do with multiple family members who dislike the spinning and the long lines on that ride.

I just have to give credit to Primeval - it is great & I cannot go on the tea cups. The constant swirling on the cups makes me feel very ill, but I think the excitement on the whirl makes the difference! It is a GREAT ride!

Lost my camera off the top of it...Last time I was there, I thought is was rougher. :scratchin Maybe its just me getting older. :rotfl2:

I'm glad y'all had good experiences on that ride, but I thought it was aweful! It hardly spun at all. It was soooooo boring. It didn't spin for about the first half of the ride and when it did start spinning it was so slow! I was really disappointed. I had about 1000x more fun on the teacups.

There are two sides to the attraction -- two separate tracks. They had one set up as Punkin's Mom describes, with hardly any spin, and the other side as other folks describe, spinning like a top. I was very happy to do the more sedate side... it was more than enough for me. My wife rodes a second time with DN6, but they got on the other side. DN6 loved it, but my wife was walking crooked for about an hour afterwards.

bicker,

amazing photos (on your site)! Fantastic!
I actually got a little sick after riding...and yep - I think there are two tracks and one is tamer. They're both pretty rough, though.

Sounds like fun! I love spinny rides.

Primieval Whirl though is tame compared to what we have at home, Spinning Dragons. The cars spin the ENTIRE ride.

Primeval Whirl is like that too, if they have it set up that way, that day, on the side you ride.

It sure can give you a good spin! But it's fun :)

I wish I'd known that the other side is tamer when we were there last month. I must of been on the "rough" side with DS7. He loved it. DD11 & I were almost crying from fright!!
