This may be old news for some, but I just had a moment of joy yesterday~at Prime Time!

We had a last minute trip to WDW so only were able to get a few ADRs (Liberty Tree and Le Cellier).

I did not know you could order food at the bar in Prime Time. This works if you don't have kids in your party. We dove in there to grab an icy drink at the bar and escape the heat. Then we saw a fried chicken platter delivered to a guy a few seats down. WHAT????? You can do that???? So, we did! It was great.

The waiting area was so packed people couldn't even move. Those with ADRs were made to wait up to an hour to get seated. People were getting so irate. We just kicked back and watched it all go down. We had our meals within 15 minutes of sitting down.

So if you're solo or duo (or more without kids), this is a great opportunity to eat there if you don't grab one of the coveted ADRs.

I watched an older woman get SO mad that her party of 4 adults could not get a table. They were a walk up. They suggested the bar but since they had 4 it was hard to get 4 seats together at the bar. She was a miserable, whiney woman who wanted to engage everyone within earshot of her problems. Nobody cared.

Does 50's Prime Time not let kids sit at the bar? I know it is up to each establishment down there.

Do you know if you can order anything off their full menu? If that's the case, that's great for small parties!

During an afternoon rain shower my 15 year old was permitted to sit at the bar with me - we both had milkshakes and bartender was fine with it. Place was crowded too.

In many places children are not allowed to sit at bars so I think some think Disney is the same.

One place I loved eating at bar was HOB. It was a 45 minute wait for table or seat immediately at bar. Was DS and I, awesome service, fun meal.

On my trip mom and girl around 12yrs sitting at the bar together splitting a meal. I asked and they said they were locals and do this regularly.

I didn't realize that the Primetime Cafe had food served at the counter - good to know! As for children being allowed to be served (food) at the bar, I was at Disney with my niece two weeks ago and we were having trouble our last night finding a table service restaurant that was still serving. Finally we headed to DS and to TRex which was packed and had an estimated 60 minute wait for a table. I asked if there was any room available at the bar and the host reserved 2 spots for us immediately. Shortly afterwards another family joined us at the bar - this was at 10:30 at night and there were young ladies pounding back shots between the 2 families (my niece was horrified :) ).

Yes Disney does allow children to sit at a bar as long as they are allowed into the bar. My 12 yr old and I sat at Yak and Yeti's bar last week while we waited for her berry cherry limeade (her all time favorite drink from any restaurant anywhere). We couldn't eat there this year but decided to as if she could get a to go cup of it (and she could)
