If you want to get an idea of winning bids look at biddingfortravel.com You might also look at hotwire so you have an idea of what your maximum bid should be.

Not sure if you'll do any better than you'd do with SW if you're flexible on your dates and destination (MCO vs TPA).

I don't know what you plan to bid on, but if it's a rental car, I've gotten some decent deals (I make sure to do all my research first and find the absolute lowest non-Priceline price so I can bid below it). I love them for MCO-area hotel rooms too.
