Dh just gave us the go ahead for the fort in October:worship: (have to bid for vacations)

Any one stayed at the new prime spot loops? We have a 30ftTT so the extra space would be really nice. The last time we camped in 07 we were in a prefered pet loop that was really tight ( no we dont have a pet )

The dd's are really excited that we are going back to the Fort, after hours of debating the "price of gasoline" vs 2 rooms in a value and the dd's going  :sad2: :guilty: no "halloween decorations, no bingo,no beach, no play ground, no campfire sing along? " dd 8 SAYS ..mom WHAT ABOUT THE CONTEMPORARY? Then we can take the boat over ?lol :rolleyes1
(gramma spoiled them a few yrs ago by staying in the garden wing over the Christmas New Years break) the ironic thing is we took the boat over several times for the campfire sing along and to hang out on the beach and use the playground and to see the Christmas decorations:thumbsup2 guess there's no getting away from our favorite vacation place in the world :lovestruc

counting the days.. october is going to be forever getting here :)

thanks

IIRC they are not done yet. I believe they will be ready for October, but you can reserve them now.........look for premium sites.

I have not heard of premium sites. Are they alot larger than the preferred sites? I have not seen any info on the Disney website either.

Yes, they are bigger than the Preferred sites. In fact, the Preferred sites are being phased out, as they are being turned into Premium sites. The work is being done now, with the completion targeted for next February.

Interesting - Thanks for the tip! Is there a large price difference?? I know the difference between the full hook up and the preferred is not that much. Do you know which loops have these sites already??

Actually that isn't quite true. I think the full hookups are disappearing with the addition of cable in every loop. They cannot convert any of the loop 100/200 sites and I believe also loop 300 to premium due to environmental factors, so they will remain preferred.

Check out the Ft. Wilderness FAQ stickied near the top of the camping board. The entire refurbishment schedule and the redesignation of all loops is listed there. (Near the bottom of page 2) (As with all things Disney, subject to change without notice)

That would be great if some Preferred sites remained. I'm just quoting what a CRO agent told me yesterday. Of course, we usually know more than they do! :rotfl:

100 - 300 remain preferred.

1600 - 1900 become preferred with the addition of cable.

1500 & 2000 remain partial, but will also have cable added.

All other loops will become premium.

Do you know if they are projecting a substantial price increase??

Good Luck with the Royal Castle ressie :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We've done that a coulpe times,,good food,,lots a fun. Your hubby is a man after my own heart,,,I too save all the snack credits for the F&W Fest. We start on one side, when they open, an eat our way to the other side, it's great! Our last day at Epcot (on our next trip ) will be the first day of the F&W Fest...Mr.:goofy:

I've seen the surveying crews out but no work has started yet, except the pavement right in front of the Outpost bus stop. It has been torn out.

So how is the Outpost bus stop since they've added the Studios bus back there. Even before they added it, there seemed to always be a 5 or 6 bus backlog waiting to pull up front to load/unload.

I remember one time when I pulled in from a park, we were in a line of about 5 buses. The driver said we had to wait until we reached unload to let us off. I said, but the bus I want to get on is probably in that line in front of us and it will be gone if we have to wait!! He did let us off. I know they just redid the Outpost stop a few years ago, but they really need to redo it again so each bus can arrive and leave independently of each other (like they do at the Values and at the parks.)

Still the same, we saw that many Saturday evening.

Oh I am so confused!!!! We have reservations for October in a full hookup site. We like to stay in the 1300 loop. So if I want to stay in the 1300 loop in October, than I need to upgrade my reservations to a premium site???? The last time we were at the Fort we had a 31foot TT. We now have a 40foot 5er. I am a little worried about fitting period. The hubby is pretty good at getting in tight spaces, but I swear it makes me a nervous reck. I guess I will just have to drink heavily before arriving!!:goodvibes

We will be there October 9-17. Now is we can just figure out a way to make the days go by faster!:yay:
