Pride Legend scooter- disassembling

We plan to rent a Pride Mobility Legend scooter from Randy's Mobility. We will be transferring from WDW to Universal and found the transfer fee for the scooter to be $35. While this is not an enormous amount, we would like to avoid it. We are renting an SUV, so transferring it ourselves is a possibility.

Is it difficult to disassemble and assemble one of these scooters if it is your first time? I don't want to spend 2 hours in the parking lot frustrated because we can't figure it out (disassemble or assemble). Thanks.

That's the beauty of renting from Randy's. When they deliver it they can show you exactly how to take it apart and put it back together.

I was a first time user about a year ago. I'd say that it took 5 minutes MAX to take it apart or put it back together. Very easy - although I am glad that I had first hand instructions from the delivery guy.

I have a Legend and one thing about them as opposed to others I have had is that the tiller does not come off, it folds down but not remove. This leaves you with some still fairly large and heavy parts to lift.

For those who may be interested, the lady from Randy's e-mailed me to say they were selling all their Legend models and would be adding the PaceSaver Plus III to their line of rentals. The Pacesaver will be the comparable model to the Legend. I like it because it has a very small turn radius of 35 inches.

I went to Pride's website and I would not want to transport a Legend unless I had a lift to get it into the vehicle. According to the brochure the scooter weight 155 pounds without batteries and the heaviest part is 61 pounds. My ECV is only about 140 including batteries with the heaviest section at 39 pounds, and it is difficult to get it into the trunk of a Taurus (in parts).
