Does anyone know if the points on the DVC go up much every year. Trying to get an idea on how much I may spend May, 2016. Also to be lower rates it says Sun-Thurs. Does that mean we can also stay Thursday night or is that on 4 nights and checking out on Thursday. Would like to stay 5 night checking out on Friday but I am guessing that would be one night at a higher rate. Trying to use the website calculator but it says 2015 rates aren't available. Just to get an idea on how this works. Also are there added benefits to renting from a DVC member versus directly from Disney? How soon can I rent for May, 2016? Thank you

The total number of points at each resort is fixed and cannot change. They can reallocate points; lowing one season or room type and raising another at the same resort, but that is rare.

The points requirement is always per-night. The "weekly" rate is really just five week nights and two weekend nights added up; there's no discount for staying a whole week.

The 2016 point charts are available. You can access them in post #8 of the DVC Resource Center thread toward the top of this forum.
You can then determine exactly how many points you would need for your particular nights, at the resort you want and the room type you want.
Note: the points shown are for the nights you stay, so if you stay a Thursday night and check out on Friday, you pay Thursday night points.
A member who owns at the resort where you are looking to stay at can make a reservation for you 11 months in advance from the start of your stay. For example if the first day of your stay is May 12, 2016, they could book starting on June 12, 2015.
If you go directly through Disney, you do not technically "rent" points from Disney when you book a Vacation Club Villa. Disney sells "Cash Reservations" for those villas from a separate pool.

So if the Sun-Thurs rate is 37 pts. per night that would mean we could stay for 5 nights checking out on Friday for 185 points. Is that correct? How far in advance can I book a room? We are thinking May, 2016. Thank you.

Thank you so much. I will check out #8 right now.
