Pricing experts predict $4 per gallon

Was $2.79 this morning here in Wichita Kansas. My husband got word two days ago that the gas was expected to jump up over $3.00 the next day. That night he filled up both of our cars. I'm trying to drive as little as possible. Thank goodness, my daughters school is only a few blocks away. Thought of planning a trip to Disney , but I don't think so now.

Gas prices went from $2.56 last night to over $4 today. People are waiting in line and some gas stations are running out of gas. Oh - I have a planned trip to WDW this weekend for a week - great timing?

Last I was out it was $2.79 in Central Ohio.

I am not bashing anyone here, but I have a question. My FIL constantly complains about the price, but what are we doing about it? All of society is complaining. Prices went up, but consumption did not go down. We proved that our society is still willing to pay the price to go on vacation, take multiple trips to the mall, and drive our big cars (mine is big also). So what is our breaking point, $4, $5? What about the European countries that have been paying these prices for some time? What solutions do we have to offer?

Where in GA? We're driving to FL down I-75 Saturday.

The only reason I complain is that I drive for work (I'm a social worker) and have to drive around the state. And we are not being reinbursed for these spikes in gas prices. In my personal life, I have cut out any non-necessary road trips. But I can't stop driving in my professional life!

Wow! That's crazy. I heard that Atlanta may also end up with a jet fuel shortage because the pipeline that carries that fuel to Atlanta comes from...guess where....New Orleans.

Peachtree City, Georgia - down 85 from Atlanta. Griffin Georgia - which is 70 miles south of Atlanta on 75 has had spikes up to $3.50/gallon and starting to have shortages.

Will be going down to WDW myself on Friday night. Will let you know what prices and availablity is on Thurday and Friday.

We are sitting her at right around 3.00/gallon. Luckily this weekend is our last trip for a while. We are planning a few day trip to the Dells in November, we will have to see what the prices are closer to when we go.

Here in IN its $3.45--it sucks for me--I drive over 60 miles one way to work every day--going to have to rethink some things!!!

DH just stopped at a gas station in Tucker, GA and the station had no gas. He said that this AM it was 2.69 now it is 3.09. Glad I gassed up right after lunch. I got 2.69 a gallon. I do feel for those that have to travel as part of their job.

I thought that I would run out and get gas here while it was still $2.88/gal. No luck in Kalamazoo as of 10AM it was $3.19 for regular unleaded. It definately hurt to fill up that 35 gallon tank!
Hi neighbor. Up here in Ludington (MI), we woke up to gas at $3.48 a gallon.

All I can say is I"m SOOO glad we bought the airline tickets when we did! Up untill a few weeks ago, we were going to drive from CT to Disney next week, but we got such a good deal on airfare, we are flying.

Airlines can't impose a gas sur-charge after they sell the ticket can they??

Gas here jumped to 2.98 at one station yesterday, didn't look today yet. This will hurt, but I drive a mini cooper, so don't use a lot of gas. What really frightens me is heating oil. If we have another bitterly cold winter like last year, we won't make it. Thank God we bought 2 tons of pellets this year, but that doesn't heat our water, and when it's real cold, it won't heat the house very well. I think this year using electric heaters might be cheaper!

Watching the news and all the gas stations in the metro Atlanta area have huge lines. They are showing the lines on TV and saying the wait is over an hour long. Of course people are just getting off work and are seeing what is going on so everyone is filling up.

A friend in ATL told me that the local news was warning of shortages due to lack of fuel being provided from the pipeline. We're only a state away and haven't heard anything like that here. Makes me wonder if the news is accurate or whether local media is just trying to justify the raising prices.

DH was at one station and it was dry. His work is telling them to make sure there vans are full before they bring them back to the work center. Prices have gone from 2.69 to at least 3.09 so far. I'm sure the news is only looking for the stations with long lines.

DH just called to say he is stuck in traffic due to people in the streets waiting to get gas. He hasn't moved in 20 minutes!! And he isn't waiting to get gas!!

Maybe if America worried about our own country and not helping foreign countries all the time, we'd have enough here where it would cover the damage to the hurricane and keep our gas prices low!!! We worry too much about everyone else and should start to worry about This COUNRTY!!

I looked online to see how much flights from Newark, NJ to Orlando are in October. $140 ROUND TRIP! But I am super scared of planes :scared: and it would probably save us a few hundred dollars flying, but I just can't do it! Not even with valium, it just doesn't work :( So driving and high gas prices it is...

on the way taking my dd to the ice rink cheap gas was 2.99 a gallon , 1 hour later on the way home it had gone up .20 !!!!!!!!!!!!! come on, i am glad she was with me or i think i was losing it........................... :rotfl2: :confused3 the most expensive v-power gas was 3.45 a gallon !

Well I'm hoping that GA gets things figured out gas wise before EARLY Saturday moring when we'll be driving through... It's getting a little crazy. I just hope that places have gas, i'm not to worried about the prices right now anyways!

On Fox News they just showed a BP gas station outside ATL charging $6.09 per gallon of premium unleaded. They did say stations gouging like that were basically trying to keep customers away, but those prices are scary!

Here in Baltimore,MD it was 2.99 when I came home from work. This morning it was 2.77.
