Hi everyone!

I live in New Jersey and am throwing a 50th Wedding Anniversary party for my parents in Long Island, NY. Invite list between 75- 100 people.

Since I will be booking a DJ from here for the party, what should I be asking and what should I expect to hear regarding the price?

Can you recommend any?

Thanks!

Dj's on long island are...HANDS DOWN..... the best! true i'm bias since thatw here i learned from. what you need to know is most established Dj companies are booked 12-18 months in advance and the good one are booked 2+ years out. my suggestion to you is call Mike at Bravo Sound the are based out of queens. bravosound.com
he does a great job and take very good care of his clients. I miss working for him and believe me... i worked for all the big companies out there! if you have any other questions let me know. i know all the ins and out and most of the catering halls on long island. 20 years of parties will do that to you!

Thanks for the response, but since writing that post we have made the party a lot smaller. We went from 100 guests to 40-50 guests and are having a sit down dinner instead.

I really do appreciate your response. Thanks again.

not a problem. check with the establishment and see if they have sound in teh room. you might be able to make a few "dinner music" cds or an ipod will work. most music store will rent you a speaker and you can hook you ipod up to it

Krc, I just signed up for disboards so i cant send/rec PMs yet. need to have more posts. what's up?

That's a great idea, I'll have to check that out.

Oh sorry. I was just giving you a website of a DJ I know..didn't think I could post it on the board. I see that you don't need it anymore anyway so no biggie:thumbsup2
