Was pricing some cruises and was ready to book something but I was not signed in. Signed in and the site started me from the beginning. Ok fine I went through it again and the price had jumped $250. I thought maybe bc of dynamic pricing but figured I would check incognito mode: old price was there. I also check: the people weren't assigned so this wasn't a matter of mistaken birthdates making the kids older so more expensive

I feel a little ripped off if Disney is trying to charge us more because they know we have gone before. Anyone else have a theory or thoughts on this?

I just did a test of this - first priced 3 cruises without signing in. Then did the same while signed in. No price difference.

I have seen this with airlines where the price will increase as you search for the same flight. If you clear you browser history this sometimes helps. Websites are smart and they know what you are looking at and they will increases the prices. I am not sure cruise lines do this but it's a theory.

I too wouldn't be shocked if Disney started this very tactic.

No one have every proved this behavior. If they did, I' sure there would be lots of lawsuits.

What you likely seeing is someone starting a reservation which takes something out of inventory at a particular price. The rest of the inventory is then priced higher. But someone could cancel an incomplete reservation, placing an item back into inventory at a lower. This all happens in a fraction of a second from anywhere in the world.

Alternatively, would you prefer the alternative behavior where the price suddenly *changes* between starting and completing the reservation, because somebody typed faster or had a faster internet connection?

Just booked a cruise as a DVC and Silver Logged in. I checked incognito on a different device while at work [Different IP] and they were the same price for the same room category. I did find that my room wasn't avalible anymore of course, but i could pick another room in the same category. perhaps you picked a room that was slightly higher. i've seen that before myself; 2 rooms next to each other, seemingly the same, with different prices.

would be interested to know what you find.
