Prices for specialty coffee and drink of the day

The prices are reasonable when I have paid in Cove cafe its circa $5>$8 for coffees etc,

If you get the cocktails of the day they are the cheapest at around $6 prices then go up.

Auto tip is 15%

Thanks for the info. Now I have a better picture of what our drink budget will be. :drinking:

Do they limit in any way the areas where you can drink? For example, if after dinner DH and I grabbed a drink from somewhere, are we free to walk around the ship with the drink, or do we have to stay in a certain area?

Thanks

Wander away!

WE also had BOGO drinks on the Magic two weeks ago. We were sitting near adult pool outside Cove Cafe and he offered BOGO so we did!

I had a buy one get one free in one of the clubs on the Fantasy last year. I ordered a Long Island Ice Tea and got 2 of them. I was happily surprised! As I remember, the cost was very inexpensive.

You are free to walk about with drinks. If you go to Cove Cafe tell them your going to wk about they will give you a to go holder rather than glass. From bars you can walk around but naturally avoid being next to pools.

Don't think anyone has mentioned that if your a coffee drinker and go to Cove Cafe...be sure to get the loyalty card.

Just a small card that you get stamped for every coffee/drink you buy at the COVE CAFE.

After you get so many (can't recall exact amount want to say 5???) you get a FREE one.
Then get a new card and start over. If you frequent COVE CAFE enough...this comes in handy.

The cards also don't expire and you can bring them with you on your next cruise and pick up where you left off.

Also Cove Cafe has a small arrangements of snacks that are complementary from a self serve area (at least on the Fantasy)

Cast Members are amazing especially OJ on the Fantasy

Just as a note, the FREE one has to be non-alcoholic - even if all the purchased ones were alcoholic.

In February, I learned through talking with some of the bartenders that they get moved around every few weeks so that in theory tips would somewhat equal out over a contract and someone wouldn't be constantly stuck at a slow and/or typically low-tipped bar (and conversely someone wouldn't always have a super busy and/or high-tipped bar.

This is protocol at establishments with more than one service well/bar and tips are pooled, at least it is here lol

There may be pooling at some of the DCL bars, but not all of them, and they definitely don't pool all the bars on DCL.

More than one bartender said it about them moving bars just in casual conversation. Lawrence in Meridian was moving to Currents the next week. And one of the guys in Cove Cafe had just moved there that week from another bar - as evidenced by me having to tell him how to make the mint mocha latte (and he still put something else in there).

This is available on all the four ships.

Does the Vista Cafe on the Dream also offer the loyalty cards? Please correct me if I'm wrong but the Cove Cafe is for Adults only and the Vista Cafe kids can go to? I have a 15 year old that will definitely get a specialty coffee everyday (me too) and would love to take advantage of getting a free one.
