Prices for Airtran took a big jump?

I've been watching Airtran and Southwest for a month now looking at departing BWI 12/4 and returning to BWI on 12/11

The prices have been pretty stable with some Tuesday and Wednesday dips in the evening. Now, all of a sudden the one flight I have been looking at to leave has jumped from $118 to $368!!!! It was the latest non-stop.

Think it will go back down? Or, should I start looking at other options. I can finally book these as early as tomorrow am, but I can wait if the price might settle down again.

Thanks for any advice.

That is really, really odd.

I just logged onto their site. I also used those flights for a price on Expedia, just out of curiousity and it comes up the same cost.

I am actually flying back from MCO to BWI on the 4th and I got $59.00 coming back.

I would cross my fingers and check it again on Tuesday; when the air fares do seem to dip back down. If not, I would book one of those other flights as soon as you can.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why they would be so expensive on a Saturday, that is clearly not anywhere around a holiday......

Thanks, I'm really bummed about the price hike since I really wanted to get on that flight (allowed a lot of park time for the day and it was non-stop). I think I will opt for a later 1 stop either tonight or tomorrow night.

Oh well, at least I am going to Disney:cool1:

No doubt there are still some 92$ flights, I just want to leave later on the 11th and arrive very early on the 4th so that we can have more time in the parks......I want my cake and to eat it too:rotfl2:

I was just wondering why that one particular flight that I had my eye on jumped up so high and whether it would ever go back down. Oh well, I will be able to book next week and I will cope with it. We are a cash only family and I need to wait for DH's paycheck to come in. :woohoo:

Because lots of other people wanted that same flight and all the cheap tickets sold out?

I have been holding off to book and I got scared. Flights are still $183 from IAD. We have limited non-stop flights available now :(
