Prices at the Coach Outlets?

It IS true!

I'm throwing away my piece of crap outlet bags right now. :rotfl:

Thanks for the education everyone!! Now I'll have to scour the outlet bags with even more scrutiny to find the elusive "F" free bag.

I wonder what I'll find first, and "F" free bag, or a Disney discount PIN.

I'm hoping for the PIN, since that would save me gobs more.

Just an FYI, Coach outlet purses are made for the outlets. They aren't the same as the purses you find in a Coach store. ( With few exceptions, sometimes a store close out will end up in the outlets. ) They're not the same quality.

Most outlet bags can be had for less than $200. The Coach I'm eyeing right now is in a Coach store and is $700..so the outlets are a deal if you can find what you want.

Just echoing Tammy,
There is a coach outlet by Atlantic City and the bags are nowhere as nice as the bags in their full line stores.

I may pick up a bag at the outlet that I know I won't use all the time, like a white summer tote but if I think it's going to be a favorite "goto" bag, I definitely go to the normal full line store.

I'm a bit rough on bags.

LOL. I'm trying to take the plunge and buy a louie vutton or Prada bag.....

I don't know about Coach specifically, but quite a few companies have lines that are sold exclusively in outlet stores. Years ago outlets were only for overstocks, etc., but once companies figured out that people liked the bargains they got outlet shopping, they started making cheaper lines that were sold only in outlets to get a customer base that wouldn't pay full price for the brands. I'd say a majority of outlet stores now sell lower quality products than what you'd find in regular retail stores under the same brand names.

Being well versed in authentic Coach products, the quality in the outlets is the same excellent quality that their retail stores carry. Many of the same bags in the retail store can be found in the outlets within a month or two of their release in retail. The savings can be huge. On the other hand, there are certain styles that are made exclusively for the outlet stores. No difference in quality. In addition, Coach has recently begun to have exclusive online outlet sales that generally run for 2-3 days only and then close. These are authentic Coach items that include the Coach embossed envelope with your receipt. Lately they have been opening the online venue approximately 2 times a month. You can join to be on that emailing list. This sale is only open to those that receive an email invitation as it's a private sale! One happens to be running now and ends in two days. I just bought two cute (small) bags for under $100 today total. They were retail priced at around $268. They are having a clearance sale and adding an extra 30% off too! Great savings for authentic bags, you just need to get on the mailing list. As I said, I am very well versed in Coach and know what to look for in authenticity. This is the real deal. Anyone can shoot me an email if you would like more info. :cheer2:

I own coach retail and outlet bags, I can see a slight difference in quality but they are still amazing. I bought a messenger bag for 135$ CAD from an outlet last year. Depends on the style of the bags but they are reasonably priced for those who just want a good bag. My only outlet complaint is some times it is hard to find what you are looking for.

The $798 bag ( third row down, Kristin Pinnacle ) that I want is there. If anyone ever finds it in an outlet, I sure hope it's me.

ETA- As far as outlet bags go, I prefer the D&B outlet.

This very bag has been spotted in various outlet stores. The last report I read had it down to $279 (50% off with another 30% off). So snob away, but there are good finds in the outlet stores.

:confused3 It has nothing to do with being a snob. We're not saying we don't like the outlets, I do for some things but it is very well known that they now direct manufacture stuff for the outlet and it's not the same quality of the other retail stores.
nothing wrong with that but info is power. I have brought outlet bags that were very nice but noticeably different.

You and tammy posted that the stuff at the outlet was made for the outlet. Yes, there are items such as that there. But there are also deletes from the boutique (full price) store, and that's what I was pointing out. What you two posted did sound snobby to me. Info is power. You can find full price store items there if you look. Even the high priced items.

the Coach outlet in Lancaster, PA was advertising an additional 30% off everything this past weekend...so apparently coupons are not dead. Or they have decided to bring them back. :confused3

FOR OP: The Kate Spade outlet store is at the International Dr. location the one closest to Universal Studios.

The one in Atlantic city is pretty much "outlet" made stuff. according to the manager, the only time they get retail (direct end) overstock is during the holiday otherwise it's 90% the line made for the outlet.

How is that snobby? I never said they were not coachs, they are still coach bags just a different line. Same principal with Ralph lauren. He makes a different line for the stuff in Kohls then the stuff he makes for Neiman Marcus.

Sorry not seeing how pointing that out is snobby.

This is actually incorrect. In actuality the Atlantic. Ity outlet is considered a "flagship" outlet. They get more deletes(stock from full price ) than most outlets.
I would agree that most of the items found in the outlet are made for the factory but AC is one of the better ones.

Well then the manager has no idea what he's talking about. I was there last Saturday and went in asking for a specific madison bag that I seen in the store in one of casinoes

I was told "we rarely get direct from store merchandise". Now I don't know if he was just blowing smoke because they did not have the bag but this is what he said.

Iwas looking for the madison leather Isabelle in brass/persimmon. Love it

Totally cool though. As much as I'm stopping in there I can't complain about not loving it. LOL.

At the Coach outlet in Vero Beach I always check the serial number inside the purse. Most of them start with an F for factory made and sold but I found 1 that was a "real" non factory coach and I bought it for a lot less than it was on sale for at the mall the same day.

The Premium Outlets in orlando at the end of International right now shows a 20% off coupon on the mall website. I have never been there when there weren't any coupons being offered. I also have never seen a non F serial number there.

The Dooney outlet in vero is never busy, everyone is across the parking lot at the Coach place. I go in there and look but I am just not into the hard structured look and feel of the Dooneys. The Coach items are usually cheaper.

She's only ever gotten one brand name bag....a Dooney and Burke bag from the outlet on last year's vacation. Other than that, she's always gotten bags at Target and similar places. She's always been jealous of "those cutesy little girls at work with their Coach purses." :lmao: She is definitely falling victim to peer pressure, but as I said, we all have our vices and she deserves a nice bag or two.

Not to hijack your Coach thread, but please tell me about the Dooney outlet. I am planning on stopping at the Dooney outlet in Orlando on my next trip.

Just to let you know on one of our trips they were selling Coach perfume in the outlet.
