Not related to our cruise this year, but I was wondering if anyone has used Priceline for airline tix and how did that work out for you. I am afraid that if we use them we will end up having a ton of connections and long layovers. Does anyone know? :confused3 TIA

i've never used them because a friend of mine said it took her boyfriend 8 hours to get from burbank airport to las vegas....normally a 52 minute plane trip. i believe it because she showed me the itinerary. this was through priceline....but that was years ago. things may be different today.

You can select how many connections you will accept, including an option for direct flights only I think. I believe they also have something stating the longest layover would be X hours.....can't remember what the number is. You couldn't use them for a cruise though, unless you were flying in a day ahead and not flying home until a day after disembarkation because you couldn't guarantee the return flight would be for after 12 or whatever the cruise line specifies.

If you book 21 day in advance fares you're probably going to do better in price and have your preferred flights. Priceline for airfare works better on short notice when you want to avoid paying business fare prices. However, I do like using Priceline for hotels. We stayed at the Sheraton Safari hotel in Lake Buena Vista the night prior to our cruise for $34. Here's a good website to learn more about Priceline bidding: biddingfortravel.com

Last year when we went to CA from TX was the last time. I not only got my tickets for under the lowest price I had found advertised but it was a nonstop flight.

Priceline only has 1-2 stops at the most for its flights. They tell you that when bidding.

I will be trying them again this year for lower fares.

Also I used them for hotel last year too...we stayed at the Anaheim Hyatt for only $25 a night! The regular price there was $149+ per night and we were VERY pleased.

Good luck hope you do as well as I have in the past.
