Priceline??

Has anyone used priceline before, when you put in the price you want? I am thinking about doing this for a flight in May, but I am a little nervous. If they don't have the price that you want do you keep trying? Is it easier to get a lower price closer to your departure date? Also I don't mind a red eye flight if it leaves in the early morning of that day 12 - 5 am, but I don't want one that leaves after 10pm, does it let you specify?

I have never done priceline for flight, only hotels. For hotels, it was great, but you don't know WHICH HOTEL til you win a bid.... I did that twice and was not disappointed.

For flights -- and I have no idea if this is still true, so maybe it isnt -- you can get really LONG layovers OR roundabout ways of getting to your destination. Either way, if still true, your times may be VERY long. and i would bet you don't save all that much vs. expedia or other sites.

I've used priceline once for my flight. You don't have a choice of specifying nonstop, but you can specify that you don't want more than 1 connection. You will not get a flight before 6am or after 10pm. I'm not sure if there's an option to allow it to select red-eyes or not.

BUT - once you place your bid and it's accepted, you have bought the ticket, no refunds. You have to give a credit card when you place your bid. If your bid is rejected, it doesn't cost anything and you can try again, but i'm not sure if there are rules of having to wait to try again or something like that.
