I see a lot of posts about great rates with Priceline, however, it appears that they only guarantee a room for 2 people. Has anyone used Priceline to travel with kids? Do you really have to request 2 rooms? If so, it might not be such a great bargain for us.

Hi Disneymom1...we also have 2 elementary age kids that travel with us and you are correct that you are only guaranteed sleeping for two.
In our priceline experience, and we have a fair amount, we have not once (knock on wood) had any trouble at all getting a double queen room. We don't even have to ask. When the desk personnel see our kids they say "You would like a double room?" Of couse we say "That would be great."
We have stayed at fabulous places in: Miami (Sheraton Bal harbor, resort), West Palm Beach (Crown Plaza, 3 star), Clearwater Beach ( Hilton, 3 Star), Orlando (Renaissance World Gate, 3 star), Miami (Embassy Suites, 3 star).
BUT, I am the type that doesn't get bent out of shape if things don't go acording to plan. I consider it a challange and deal with it. I am not sure exactly what I would do if I was told "we have a one king bed room for you". I guess we would all sleep in the one bed.

I agree with scal...I wouldn't have done as well without getting educated at learn how to use priceline It is worth the time it takes to understand what you are doing, and it took me a while to understand. ;)

We also travel with 2 children. I always contact the hotels I get through Priceline in advance to request 2 beds. Only have had a problem once. Contacted the Hotel at least 3 times via email to request 2 beds and got no response. When we arrived they tried to tell me we would have to pay for an additional room - that they had no rooms with 2 beds available. After I mentioned that I had tried to email them several times- they relented and gave me a room with 2 beds. The hotel was obviously not full so I'm not sure why they gave me a hard time.
