Priceline Question

If you bid on a priceline.com hotel I understand that you pay for it upfront and it is a no money back deal. BUT, does anyone know if you are $$ penalized if you never show up for your reservation? Do you call the hotel to cancel the reservation directly?

I don't know if it will help you but I just got a hotel on Priceline. I have a Customer Service # that maybe you could call and ask them. You have already paid for the room so I would think that if you don't show up the hotel already has your money. To be sure though I would try and find out. If you want the # pm. me and I'll let you know okay. If there is anything else I can help you with just let me know.

Once you have your reservation, any communication should be between you and the hotel. I bid on the Ft. Lauderdale Marriott Hotel and Marina or at least that is the hotel I got when I bid. Luckily it was the one I wanted. Anyway, I need two double beds instead of a single king so I called the hotel directly, after I received confirmation from Priceline and they put the request on my reservation. Out of courtesy, I would call a cancel a reservation if I didn't show up.

I would agree that you should probably call the hotel. I called the hotel after my bid was accepted to make sure that I had a non-smoking, king bed on request. I bid on Miami Downtown and got the Radisson. Had hoped for the Hyatt but the Radisson is in the very same area. Right near the port.

There is no penalty to not show up. You can't get a refund, but there are no additional charges.

To all the above -- thank you for your input. I will indeed call the hotel to indicate my cancellation. At no point did I ever expect to receive my money back. I understood the rules of Priceline from the beginning regarding the no refund policy.
