I was just pricing out weekly minivan rates for our end of August stay and they were in the USD$500 to $550 range. After tax about $600.

Tried the bid your own price at Priceline and put in $30 a day and got a minivan. Dammit! Should've bid lower :rotfl2: In any event, after tax its $305 for the week. I guess I'm happy. But this particular company charges for extra drivers, so I guess gotta add another $70 to the contract.

Did I do okay? Just trying to make myself feel better, that's all... ;)

You did good. Pat yourself on the back. Anytime you can save 50% its a good deal. :yay:

I usually start bidding very low and work up. I also don't start bidding until 10days out.

I would like to hear other recent Priceline sucess stories at MCO. I will be again using Priceline for our October trip.

Quick question on Priceline if possible - can you bid on a rental at MCO that is guaranteed 'on site' at the airport - or could you end up with either onsite or off-site where you have to shuttle to the rental car?

No, you can't. Priceline lists the companies they use and there's one (I think Hertz) that's off-site and requires a shuttle ride.

I'm pretty sure you always have to pay for an extra driver with PL. The free dirver perk of Emerald Club don't apply. The free driver provided through rates like COSTCO/WalMart don't apply.

I think even a company that doesn't normally charge for an extra drive is entitled to charge PL customers an extra driver fee.

People who need an extra driver need to bid less on PL.

DH just did Priceline for our trip next week (8/26-9/1). We got a full-size for $20/day plus taxes/fees. Total was around $186. He said it gave him the option of onsite only or not. He was very happy!
