Looking for a deal on a hotel using hotwire or priceline name your own price. I know there has been another site mentioned that is similar to that but I also know it has been mentioned here that there is website that tells you what hotels you are getting on hotwire and priceline name your price. I know I didn't explain this well but I have faith someone can help me!

It sounds like you might be looking for biddingfortravel.com and I think the other one is something like betterbidding.com

I don't know of any site that will tell you for sure what you are going to get but if you go to betterbidding.com then you can get a pretty good idea from what other people are booking and what the amenities the property lists. It's a great place to get strategies for bidding as well. :-)

Remember if you bid in Anaheim you have to aim for the 3.5 and 4 stars to get the convention center hotels, and if you have a car add $15 for parking to figure your total per night cost.

I always use betterbidding to help me - and I love them!

I've been able to get the Hilton, Red Lion or Crowne Plaza on Harbor several times on Priceline for $50-$65 plus parking of $15. All very nice hotels.

Our last stay I used Hotwire and was able to book the Radisson near Knotts for $65. They have free parking and includes free hot breakfast buffet.

Does Raddison have a free DLR shuttle?

Yes they do but it runs only 4-6 times each way per day. Also, when we were there Disneyland was open till midnight but the last shuttle left Disneyland at 11pm. You also must reserve which shuttle time you want beforehand. Generally the shuttles were not filled even on a busy day so it was possible to ride a different time than reserved. They also have a free shuttle to Knotts although its not that long of a walk. Very nice hotel with huge rooms (seperate living room with sofabed and kitchenette) and the free hot breakfast saved us a bunch.

Someone here pointed out lastminutetravel.com that gives great deals like hotwire - but shows pics so you can *guess* which hotel it is.
I checked it out and I really like the site and can't wait to use it!

I used Hotwire for two nights this past weekend. I picked the 3 1/2 stars and ended up with Hotel Menage at $59/night plus $10/day parking when I checked out. I liked the hotel; it was kind of neat. There were some drawbacks, but for the money, I cannot complain.

I tried priceline in the summer and it wouldn't let me get anything for the prices people are quoting. We went up to $80 a night and still nothing. How are you getting such great prices?

I have never used Priceline because I don't like the bidding process. I have only used Hotwire a couple of times. It works different because it has the price up front and how many "stars" the place is and what vicinity it is located. The thing you don't get at Hotwire is the hotel name, and as a result, the exact location. The deals at both places are based on availability. That same room that cost me $59 last weekend will likely be $100+ Memorial Day weekend. Many people that get the great deals at Priceline have flexible schedules so they can try bidding on multiple weekends or days of the week.

splash 5 I use Priceline Name Your Own Price a lot. I have to say I usually get my stays in the Disneyland area between $45.00 - $65.00. However, I have expierenced what you are saying. When that happens and my bid is not accepted I go to another site and shop there for my best deal. It does take patience and time. I have noticed when something big is going on in the area that the Name Your Own Price option is not always the best choice. I hope that helps.:tink:
