Ok, so I have been looking for a hotel for one night before we check into HRH. We want something super cheap but I don't want to stay in a dump either. I have tried Priceline several times going up as high as $55 (for a 3 star) in the Universal area. Is there another are I can add on Priceline that would be good for one night before we check into HRH (which we plan on doing early to get our Express Passes the next day.)

I currently have the Rodeway Inn booked for $50 but I would love to get the total under $50 since we are only looking for a clean and safe place to lay our heads for a few hours!

Hotwire lists a 2.5 star in the Universal area for $38/night and a 3 star for $41/night.

have you checked http://betterbidding.com/ ??

I have had a lot of luck with priceline using the hints from their website...we are staying at the Hilton near DTD (resort) for 55 dollars the night after we check out from our Universal hotel...esp be sure you check out bidding zones and free rebidding... :)

Thanks for the suggestions.

The really cheap one listed on Hotwire is the Imperial Swan which gets horrible reviews.

I found a deal on Travelzoo for the Quality Inn on I-Drive for $32 ($36 with tax.) It gets pretty good reviews on Tripadvisor so I booked that. I can certainly live with $36 for the night (makes up for the almost $300 that we are spending for one night at HRH :rotfl:)
