Planning a trip for Aug 6-8, so need a hotel.

I can get HoJo for $233; and I can book Holiday Inn on Manchester in Anaheim for $193 total. Neither charges for parking which I love.

I was thinking of doing Priceline though. Any strategies? Thoughts? Should I go for it?

It's a 2-day trip for my neice and I. I live in SoCal and have a car.

If you like the free parking I would stick with what you have. Priceline could put you out of walking distance and then you will be paying to park at a Disney lot or for a shuttle.

I've twice gotten the Holiday Inn on Manchester via Priceline. Once at $39/night (incl. taxes $50); and a second time at $44/night (incl. taxes $56). You can get the Holiday Inn at a tremendous bargain via Priceline. It's at the 3* level. I haven't seen anyone get the HoJo via Priceline in a couple years though. You can research winning bids from a couple of sites. PM me if you need more info. :)

I have never once bid on priceline without first going here:
oops I can not post the link to the site. If you sent me a PM I could give you the site information.

It is a message board and it tells you what people have bid, the star level and what hotel they got. I have only done the 3 1/2 star level nothing is in walking distance but some have a free shuttle. My sister did this last month and got the doubletree for 45. once parking and fees were added it was still cheaper than the Hotel 6 she was going to book.

There are bidding strategies you can also PM me for help. If you do not need walking distance you can get a nice hotel for a good rate.

If you can get your hands on a current Entertainment Book or just the card from the book, then you qualify for the excellent special hojoanaheim Entertainment Book rate.

Sure does look to me like it's available on the 6th and 7th!

Editing to add...your sig says you're an AP holder at DLR. If so, you don't even need the EB card, you can book that same rate with your AP.

Just call the Anaheim hotel directly, during pacific time business hours, and ask to speak with in house reservations to booth either one of those rates....

I think the previous poster was trying to mention betterbidding.com...we'll see if the dis has blocked it... (but again, AP or entertainment book rate...really good rate for the 6th and 7th at hojo!)

You can get $10 per night bonus money for bidding on Priceline through the Entertainment website. Just do a search for Priceline. You'll get an email with further instructions on booking using the bonus money.

There are some undesirable (IMO) 3* in the Anaheim-Disneyland zone. You are not assured of getting the Holiday Inn.

If you need to get free parking and within walking distance, then you should stick with your plans. However, if you are a little adventurous, then Priceline is for you.

I bid 3 1/2* in Disneyland-Orange-Garden Grove zone and got the Doubletree for $55 + $10 bonus money. This was almost exactly 1/2 price of the lowest refundable rate. I used multiple bids to get to this point, so I'm pretty sure I got the best price possible. It's a little higher than some have gotten, but it just depends on occupancy. My dates are July 31 - Aug 4.

I love Priceline and have used it many, many times at Disneyland and other places. However, my first choice is Howard Johnson, but only with the Entertainment rates (not available for all nights of this trip).

Good Luck!!!
