can someone talk me through how pricelines works with airline tickets? step by step and how you figure out what to offer. is there any real savings there?
is there a better website to get last minute tickets at a good rate?

Take a look at www.biddingfortravel.com and www.betterbidding.com

I don't think there is a lot of interest with PLs air product. Flight times can be horrible. Connections can be long and indirect. Prices may not be that much better then just hunting for the best deals.

I'd just check Kayak. Check SW. Check smaller airlines not listed on Kayak. Make sure you research fees for checked luggage, carryon luggage and seat selections when you check airlines like Allegiant and Spirit.
