Priceline Express Deals

I am thinking of booking for late March , but now thinking twice. Do you have to link the Priceline reservation to your My Disney Account, or can you just show up at the hotel with the Priceline Conformation. We are not planning on going to any parks but would want Magic Express.

Thank you all for your research here. I just booked All-Star Movies on Hotwire for $91 a night, beating my Disney-booked $151 Pop by a LOT.

Dates are 3/23-3/26. It included "golf nearby" and 1.6 miles to Animal Kingdom Park.
The one I found on Hotwire included "golf nearby" and 1.6 miles to Animal Kingdom Park.

It was listed as a "3-star Resort in Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek area".

Overall rating was 4.2/5 (1,001 - 1,500 Expedia reviews).

Condition of hotel: 4.2
Quality of service: 4.4
Room comfort: 4.1
Room cleanliness: 4.2

Price was $91/night for March 24 (Wednesday night).

I think this is All-Star Movies.

The Disney rate for this is $170/night. The Expedia rate is listed as $169/night.

The Annual Pass Holder rate is $130.90/night.

Oof, that stinks.
If possible, I would personally try getting various Priceline people on chat until someone pushes the right buttons.
AFAIK Most of these deals link with few issues, but when they do have issues it can sure be a runaround.

Finally able to get my reservation linked today! Only took a week and lots of persistence, but what a relief!

Woohoo!
Out of curiosity, in the end was there something in particular they ended up doing differently to finally get it linked, or did at some point they just say "Oh, I see it now!" ?

The previous night I called Disney as I wasn't able to get thru to PL. The CM told me he was going to escalate to his coordinator and to call back when his shift started the next afternoon. He did mention PL was having issues with their reservations needing to be manually entered. So yesterday morning, I checked MDE with no luck. But decided to try again in afternoon (about an hour before the CM had suggested I call back) and sure enough it linked. I promptly called Disney Wholesale to add additional occupants. I don't know if it just had to get to right person at Disney or PL finally was able to send it over. Still no notification from PL that it was ever resolved.

Didn't know you could call to add occupants, is there a fee for that?

There was no cost to add my kids (3-10). My understanding is you can add upto room occupancy limits. Since I booked PLE, only 2 adults were initially booked.

Awesome to know, booking 3 adults on hotwire hotrates added to the cost this time, and last time I tried calling to add occupants disney told me to call hotwire. So I assume I called the wrong dept last time (not wholesale).

FWIW, I did a Hotwire search for the week before Labor Day (8/28-9/6) and was surprised to see Hot Rate deals for the Yacht Club and Grand Floridian, each at 40% off. YC was $289, marked down from $483+. GF was $425, marked down from $707+. The opaque transparent deal prices are $484 and $708 respectively, and those are the prices on disneyworld.com. I'm not interested in booking those hotels, didn't try to book one, and am not recommending anyone else book them. I offer this post as additional data for those interested in the question "when do Disney Resorts become available on Hotwire?" Usually, I'd say not until about a month or so ahead of time. But, at least in this case, they did pop up much sooner.

Edit: corrected opaque to transparent.

Disney charges extra for each adult (18+) beyond 2. I'm not sure how wholesale would handle adding an additional adult.

Hotwire has an app code LUCKY for $17 off, but it expires tonight at 11:59 (just got the email). Hotel must be over $100.

I also noticed they dropped deals way out for the first time! (Priceline has done that in the past, but it has been awhile.) After fees many are very close to Disney's price, but I did find a few gems in the middle of the summer. Trying to figure out if I can find a pattern or resort for the good deals for a blog post on them.

Weird 'glitch' with Priceline Express Deal on the Swan. Got my rooms (for Sept) over a month ago with an Express Deal (you couldn't get The Reserve back then) and I checked in my original confirmation email, it told me that I correctly guessed it was The Swan when I ordered back then, but now when I go check on Priceline it tells me that my reservation is at The Reserve instead. The Swan is no longer listed as an option at all, only The Dolphin and The Reserve. Their current prices for their listing of The Reserve are the higher prices one would expect from The Swan as well, more than $40/night more than the listing for The Dolphin when The Swan is normally only $10/night more. Did I get upgraded with no notification? I mean I'd be pretty happy if I did but has this happened to anyone else, or did the listings just get merged or something?

I’m trying to figure me it out. Is it too early to find a deal for May 5-9? Should I wait until April?

Last week I booked a PLE deal for end of April. So, no, probably not too early to be on the lookout.

I'm pretty sure mine was the last PLE room for that hotel because I was watching to make sure the resort still had rooms (due to issues, see previous posts) and never saw the same deal again.

I'm thinking of booking for the end of May, but it looks like my trusty Hotel Canary extension no longer works (yes, it's been a few years!). Any blog posts or specific posts I should be looking at for trying to figure out which hotels are actually Disney ones?

The Canary died a few years ago now. :(
If you scroll back through this thread the discussion here might catch you up on tactics with Priceline & Hotwire.
You can check out my April PE Deal blog post or my April Hotwire blog post for some tips.
Bunch of deals dropped at Hotwire from May all the way through October now, but you need to compare those to Disney's discounts after all deals and fees - some of the hidden deals are good, others not so much.
(The 11% off Hotwire deals tend to be either the same or more money than Disney when there's a discount out.)

I also created spreadsheets that may take the place of Canary, should help narrow resorts down for you at Disney or UOR areas.

Checking Hotwire for October deals and this appears to be the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. When I select room type, it even says "Room (Wilderness)". The price after taxes and fees is $2284, compared to Disney's rate of $3263, so the savings is pretty significant. I also see what I believe is Caribbean Beach since one of the room types is Pirate. Can anyone help confirm one or both as accurate? Thanks!
