I have never used priceline and since the search is down I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right place to get info on how to bid. I need a one-way ticket from MCO to MSP so my teenager con accompany us for part of our family vacation. On Travelocity the price is $128. Does anyone know if that is good? Thanks.

Hey look I been tagged!!!!
Thanks tag fairy. You are the best.

If you already have your tickets, I would not use Priceline for your son's ticket. If you can get a ticket on the same flight you are on for 128.00 I would go for it.

Gail,
The $128.00 was on Travelocity for one-way from MCO to MSP. The rest of us are driving but he can't stay that long. Someone just told me Priceline is only round trip so I may be getting the $128.00 unless anyone has another suggestion. Thanks

$128 sounds decent to me. You won't be able to bid on a one way ticket on priceline but you can bid on a round trip and "throw away" the other portion.

Be advised that bidding on PL you only get to pick the DATE of departure. You have to agree to connecting flights, you don't get to pick your airline, and you could end up with an undesireable flight time. You cannot say "I would like to leave on Friday, June 3oth at around 3PM." You could potentially lose a day of vacation becasue PL could put you on the last flight out or the first fllight out.

AND, end up going to CA before you even see FL. :) (Sort of an exaggeration, but, they do book some really round about routes).

I would go to the airlines websites directly.

Have you check SunCountry's website or called them for one way fares?

The only direct flights back from MCO to MSP are gonna be with Northwest, or a charter like SunCountry or MLT vacations which does air only too.

herc.

Thanks everyone. We are going to go with the $128.00 It is the best deal we could find and worth it if it means my son can come down for a week!

MAR3990,

If you're happy with the $128, that's pretty good. But if you've not bought it yet, check out www.airtran.com. They have some rates at $116.

Personally, I use Priceline heavily for hotels, will never use them again for airfare. In today's market, the airlines seem willing to work on a lower margin than Priceline.
