Priceline Bidding Cheat Site

Not really cheat, just could not think of a better way to word this -- I am talking about sites not affiliated with Priceline that give you tips on what hotels are usually won and what bids are being accepted.

I've not used Priceline for "name your own price" hotel bookings for several years. I used to use the site BetterBidding, but looking at BetterBidding today, activity is pretty sparse.

Are there sites other than better bidding that anyone recommends?

http://www.biddingtraveler.com/ is another site Their suggested starting bid may be too high. It will help you maximize your free rebids. Its not just adding zones

I don't know if the site below still operational. Information is worth the few dollars they charge.

I use to use biddingfortravel, but I think the owner ran everyone off! I haven't bid on a room in years, I was finding better deals with hotwire.

I still use both biddingfortravel and betterbidding to help with bid amounts, but I have not posted a winning bid on biddingfortravel in years because the woman who runs it/ moderates it is so unpleasant.

I dont get into debates on dis and just try to be neutral but she cut me off! lol. I dont know what or how I did it but somehow got banned!?! I didnt even know what I did but one day that was it. I never even made it far enough to end up trying a bid lol

I posted when I got a hotel that wasn't on the list for the area and got chastized for not providing enough information or using her referral link. I was just trying to be helpful. She's crazy.

Has anyone used Priceline recently? I need to book a room this week. I'm headed to the 24 hour event at MK leaving from Alabama Thursday afternoon.. I want to find a cheap place to get a power nap and a shower before I get there for rope drop.

I've attempted to use it recently and bid up to almost the amount I can get a room for with my work discount(usually 20% off chain hotels). I was unsuccessful. I will not go below 2 1/2 stars on my bids. The deals are not what they used to be, we used Priceline much more than we do now.

I used priceline recently for a place in Milwaukee and got a pretty good deal. Sometimes you can get a great deal and other times not so much. It all depends on what's available for your particular date/location.

I've used it for car rentals. I just lowball.....seriously lowball like $10 a day and go from there. The closer to your arrival the better chance of getting a lower price as something is better than an unused car or room sitting empty (although there is a bottom $ limit on how low they go). I have used it for hotels, but be sure you know the area well. I would never use priceline and name a price for a room in an unfamiliar area. Some places 1/2 a mile can be a huge difference in personal safety. Think Miami or Baltimore. We used to book a place all the time near my grandfather. We know of 1 hotel in their bidding area....and it was the only hotel that listed on Priceline in that area, so we got it everytime for $55 a night. To book directly would have been $120 a night.

I always use biddingtraveler to auto bid and it's always worked out very well. I will have to look into some of these other options too!!

We used it last week to get a couple of rooms for a last minute long weekend in San Antonio. Our first night, we got a room for $68 total that would have been $130 and the second night we paid $115 total for a $175 room plus a $50 balcony view upgrade upon check-in. I was really happy with it.
