Priceline and Cocoa Beach

I was hoping that any Disers who had used priceline for Cocoa Beach could please share with us what you paid and what property you got, and whether or not you felt it was a good deal, as opposed to the Radisson or Ron Jons.

Yes Thank you. I always go to www.biddingfortravel.com but I was hoping for more personal reviewsm as some of that stuff is quite old, and the girl that runs that board is quite rude.

This was a while ago....let's see..... must've been 3 or 4 years ago. We got the Holiday Inn there and it was awful. There's been other posts about this dump I have read about. It was a 3 star hotel and it was more like a 1/2 star to me. The ceilings were cracked, there was a large gap under the door and it stunk terribly in there- can't put my finger on what it was- just musty and grose. Yuck. We walked in, checked it out and walked back out and checked out after complaining. There wasn't anything they could do since I went thru Priceline, so I called Priceline and pitched one to them. I can't remember now whatever happened with the money -I got the room for $38.00 I think, so it wasn't a huge deal, just the idea of it though. We ended up down the road at the Hilton -nice place and clean and the pool worked! HI the pool was under construction and thank goodness it was- it looked awful. I didn't notice it being "under construction" it was simply "closed". Anyway, I don't think I'd take the chance for Cocoa Beach again, just drive there or ask on the boards where the best place to stay in CB is. Good luck.

I agree about the owner of biddingfortravel, but I do still like to lurk there and find out the hotels and the going rates. If you scroll down, there are hotel reviews as well. I believe dcltribute.com has cocoa beach hotel info as well.

If you check out www.biddingfortravel.com, you can get lots of info on priceline bidding, which hotels are used in each category, reviews of the hotels, and what people paid.

I've done several priceline hotel bids and always been very satisfied. That said, I don't book the 1*s, and do 2* very judiciously.

This past Feb we booked priceline 3* and got the Doubletree in Cocoa Beach for $39.00 per room (we booked 2 rooms).

Hotel was fine for the night but I still prefer the Radisson even though it cost more. That trip we were on a strict budget so we did priceline....the property was great for the price paid considering Doubletree's website was showing nothing under $95.00 a night for the time we were there. Plus the warm choc. chip cookies they hand out at checkin are to die for!!!

I could not get Priceline to accept my bids prior to our April cruise and I was happy with my orbitz.com find: Motel 6 for 41.00

The room was HUGE, pool was adequate. Nothing fancy - clean.

We used Priceline in June and got the Doubletree for $42. I thought it was beautiful and it was right on the beach. We strolled along the beach the morning of our cruise to kill time.
The only drawback was that they had us in a room with only 1 bed and there were four of us. Luckily, they had some vacancies and we were able to get two doubles.

I got Holiday Inn Oceanfront Cocoa Beach for $40 on Priceline. It says it is a 4 star- but the previous poster (shefor24) said it was 3. Maybe they changed the star rating.
I haven't stayed there yet but as I understand it - it will be 100% renovated by this fall so I am hopeful that it will better than when shefor24 stayed there.
