Has anyone used Pricline.com and name their own fare for flying into Orlando? Everything I am finding for the first week of April out of Indianapolis has been ridiculously expensive - $273 r/t per person including taxes/fees. That gets awfully expensive when I multiply that by four! I punched in $100 r/t per person on Priceline.com and got a kick back saying there tickets available. Has anyone done this? Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I haven't done it myself, but have friends that did. They saved a lot of money, but the times were horrible. From what I remember...could be wrong....as long as you plug in the date, they have until almost midnight that day to have a flight depart. So you could wind up having to take a late night or very early morning that could really eat into your trip.

We use Priceline for hotels and have had some awesome deals, so I would assume you could get a good flight deal.

Best of luck to you whatever you decide.

I agree with Heather, there is a BIG risk on bad times and/or LONG layovers. You have no real control on that so if you can live with a LATE arrival into MCO and an EARLY departure then it might work, but I wouldn't count on it. (Also, tickets available does not mean you will get them at $100)

I haven't personally, but I know several people who have used it and gotten burned. Oh, they got their flights for their price. But ended up with horrendous connections, or flying back a day early/late (which somehow counted as the day they selected due to priceline's loopholes).

I've heard nothing but good experiences with Priceline for Hotels or Rental Cars. But I personally wouldn't trust them for airfare.
