Looking to get a decent room at a decent price before our 9/4 cruise. Barb had all kinds of tips on this previously but I've forgotten them - (bad, bad Rae!). So if anyone can share them with me, I'll use them stat!!!!

Thanks!
Rae

I hope this isn't too late but go to biddingfortravel.com to get great info on priceline.

definitely go to biddingfortravel.com. I paid $35 for Doubletree on the beach in Cocoa Beach. :) We had a rental car so no need for a shuttle to the port. just don't go below 3*s for a room.

Another vote for the biddingfortravel website - its so helpful for priceline. I bid $28 and they offered me to rebid at $35 for 3 stars orlando airport. I could have used a free rebid and ended up a few dollars less, but I figured for the 3 or 4 extra dollars, I would be done with it. Who can argue with $35 for a marriott.

another biddingfortravel fan. I found them via a post from Barb and have used them all summer. My recent "deal" was 2 nights in Chicago at the Hyatt Regency downtown for $65/night. Rack rates were $189+.

I haven't used them yet for Cocoa Beach area (we're a bit far out yet) but I occasionally check in to see who's winning what hotel at what rates. IT's VERY helpful in bidding

Hey!!! I got the Hyatt Regency also for our upcoming San Diego trip. Hyatt Regency in La Jolla!! are you sitting down?? $50 a night!! Gotta love Priceline. ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Best tip I can give you: ONLY bid the highest star level for MCO area! Otherwise, you could end up at the slum LaQuinta on Daetwyler Drive (not to be confused with the good LaQuinta Suites). The other hotels in that class are fine, but the risk of getting that one is not worth it.

betterbidding.com and biddingfun.com are also good Priceline info sites.

That's what I got also for my 9/3 stay!

To all, thank you for the assistance! It was invaluable!!!!!
