We have one and as we had a big event coming up that required a lot of food (a dinner for a group of college age individuals) I decided to shop there for everything.
I was disappointed in the prices. They weren't as high as Kroger would have been for me but not as cheap as going to aldi's and following up at Walmart (for things aldi's didn't have). I guess I was expecting it to be as cheap as aldi's and it just wasn't.
I only bought ground beef that was seasoned before serving so the quality would be harder to discern but it didn't end up all fat that was drained off or anything.
I haven't went back, nothing about the experience was enough to draw me there again.
My hometown got one a short while back (it is in a former Food Lion location) -- I've heard the novelty tends to wear-off after a few trips, and everyone is back at Walmart...
We had an IGA open in our town a few years ago. The only time people around here went in was to grab last minute items or things that had been forgotten while in town doing your big shopping trip. For me, I found the prices to be a little high and they carried brands that are not familiar to my area. Our location closed after only being open a year.
I much prefer Aldi and WinnDixie
Thanks, I heard it was cheaper than Wal-Mart, didn't believe it. It is in place of the Food Lion here also. I should give it a look quickly, it might not be around very long.
