The add-on bug is biting! :earseek: I'm watching the re-sale boards, but would like to compare to buying direct from Disney. What is the price per point now AND are there any incentive's still being offered? For some reason I was thinking that the Disney price had topped $90, but am hoping I'm wrong. Hmmm, do you ever become immune to the add-on bug?

If I remember correctly, it's around $94 per point, but I could be wrong. When we bought a year ago, it was $89. We added on about 6 months after we first bought....guess you're never immune to that add-onitis!!

I believe it is still $89 per point for the sold out resorts. We added on in late October and that was the price we paid, and I don't think it has changed since then (it went from $84 to $89 this summer as I recall).

:D I knew I could count on a quick response on the DIS....Wow, love these boards. Thanks so much, now I can do a comparison between new from Disney and re-sale!

For OKW, BWV, HHI, VB, VWL and BCV points it's a flat $89 each.

For SSR, you have a choice of either $90 per point if you want points for your 2004 Use Year, or $85 per point if you want to defer until your 2005 UY. With either SSR option you get the benefit of ownership that is 12 years longer than the older properties.

They were also running a promotion for awhile where you would get two free adult APs with an add-on of 130 or more at SSR only. Or, if you don't need that many, they were giving a free one day, one park ticket for every 25 points you purchase (eg. 75 points would be 3 1p, 1d passes.) According to the member web site, it appears that both of these offers are still in effect.

(Edited to correct years noted in paragraph 2. Sheesh, you'd think I would know what year this is by now. :( )

Hmmm, SSR is something to consider. Although I realize the benefits of adding on at our home resort (BCV), I'm not against adding on elsewehere. We have made several short, last minute trips and have always been able to get a ressie as long as we open to staying at any DVC villa.

Just added on in Nov. at VWL at $89- plus I got four 1 day park tickets. They banked my 2003 Dec. points also. I've done resale and through Disney and prefer getting my points directly from the mouse. To me it's not worth the hunt for the non-stripped contract, ROFR time, and closing costs. I was able to get my points and book a trip the same week I made the deposit from Disney.

twotoohappy, I've had my own reservations about resale, so I'm happy to get your input on resale versus Disney Direct. I like the no hassle of Disney and no closing costs (especially with small contracts). I also like being able to put the whole thing on Visa (rewards!). I'm sure there are others who have purchased resale and prefer it and I would be glad to hear their input.

i just bought my final resale thru the TSS for 500 points at SSR............we sent in the 20% check on the 17th and we just heard from disney on 12/23 that we got our points................for 79 A POINT........... they passed on the ROFR. It could not have been any easier.............and it tokk only two weeks..........we close in two more and the sellers even gave us points they had to use by 1/31/05 and we rented them with some of our own and it paid for the closing costs.............a complete win win in my book...........and getting the extra 12 yrs for 79 a point is a no brainer
