We leave in 6 days!!!! In my over active planning brain i need to know(because I can not remeber) What is the price for the refilable mug? Is it worth it to get for just morning coffee on a 7 day stay?

We got them last year. I remeber it being a pain to have to go back to the room after we ate to drop off the mugs so we did not carry them all day in the park. I also bought it last year just to have for home also, but since I have one home, there is no need to buy another one if it is not worth the price and I can just but a cup of coffee ever day! (Does that make sense?)

I think the mugs are $12.49 plus 6% tax. I bring my own coffee from home and make it in the room. The rooms have 4-cup coffee makers in them. I buy the disposable coffee cups/lids in the grocery store (10 pack) and take my own coffee that way. I know it's not environmentally friendly but it's no worse than using the ones they provide. I hate carrying my cup around all day too.

I really don't enjoy the coffee at Disney. Not sure what it is but there is a certain flavor, maybe vanilla, that has turned me off. I  my morning coffee so this is the best way to do it.

For one coffee a day, if you like theirs, I'd just buy it.

It can also be a major pain to just get the mug filled at most DVC resorts. They tend to be spread out (SSR and OKW are the most spread out) and you have a long way to go just to get that one mug of coffee.

With DVC, we have a kitchen or kitchenette in every villa, so it makes sense to fill your refrigerator with your beverages of choice and bring your favorite coffee and basket type filters and make your own coffee each morning.

Thanks for the help. I will just get it there every morning. I know we have the kitchen and coffee maker. I may use that also. I am from the book of, I am on vacation and not making a darn thing! LOL

Thanks. Of course it goes out the window if they went back to resort specific mugs, then I need to buy the SSR mug. They went to generic ones last year, I really wanted a SSR one.

My DW and I are huge coffee-heads. On every trip we stop at Wal-Mart and pick up a cheap 10-12 cup Mr Coffee (whichever one is on sale, usually $10) and just leave it behind if we have to. We also buy a really good Cuban-style espresso roast that we don't see much in IL, that comes in a bright yellow brick foil package. The Disney stuff is not so good.

None of this stumbling down to the food court at 6 am for us.

Each of the villas already have a coffee pot, so there isn't any need to buy one and leave it behind.

I agree with Deb on the being pain at times. We only get mugs when we're staying at HHI or VB. Otherwise, it just hasn't made sense to have the mug. Now, if you could get them refilled at the parks that would be a different matter. Even at HHI you have to have an attendant refill them for you. The VB station is self serve.

We drink a LOT of soda in my house. We just stayed at BCV and it more than paid for itself. It is really easy to refill in the hotel store and at the pool.

We payed a bit up front for the mug, but saved a bunch over the week.:surfweb:

It all boils down to the convenience of refilling that mug. When we stayed at the Contemporary Resort, we bought the mug because we spent a lot of time at the pool and running over to the Food & Fun area was easy to get refills of the frozen coke. OKW and SSR are another thing, though. BCV could be a lot more convenient.

Being "Earth-friendly", does anyone bring their cup from a previous stay and ask the CM if you could just pay the cost of a new one just for the convenience? Just wondering because I wouldn't need a lot of cups.

Earth-friendly too, but I don't think they are programmed for it. Though it wouldn't surprise me to find out that many use their cups to get free drinks. I just don't know?

I like the idea of buying a new sticker for an old mug.

This is how it is done at Blizzard Beach, this mug will stay in our Owner's Locker.

It would be nice to leave resort mugs in our locker too, and also have a legal way of reusing them.
