Yes! The bags are not handled very delicately, therefore if something were to break it would spill all over your luggage and possibly others too. Disney's alcohol policy does state the beer and wine must be in carry on bags not checked.

AND if such happens, you would be responsible for the cost of cleaning/repairing/replacing others' luggage your liquid damaged. I heard (because the guest was being loud and was just a couple of doors down from me) a discussion between a couple of officers and a guest who had put red wine in his checked bags and it broke and ruined another guest's luggage. The guy was trying to get out of paying for the damages and was basically told "You can pay, or you can disembark without refund." I didn't poke my head out to see what he looked like, so I don't know what the decision was.
Oh. And apparently "Survival Water" is the bottled water IN the cooler bag - so you're saving $5.50 over buying the water and the bag separately. WHY they call that "Survival Water" I still don't know.
How on earth can they get people to pay for lousy water like Dasani when the water that comes out of the tap on the ship is far higher quality? I would be different if they were selling good water.

I much prefer the taste of Dasani to the water in my cabin on HAL last week. Of course Cruise Critic people swear up and down and judge harshly anyone who says this but- the water tasted lousy! It’s like everyone forgets the water has to travel through all sorts of pipes picking up lovely tastes before it reaches your tap. Tons of ice masked it.
Just bring a filtered water bottle for each person (or a filtered pitcher with reusable water bottles but that’s so bulky). It’s what I wish I’d done! I love the Philips Go bottle because you don’t have to suck the water through a straw but you have to remove the carry loop to prevent it from leaking so that’s a deal killer for many. The Adventure filter is so good you can drink stream water with it so great for in port too.
