Hi guys! My family is taking a cruise on the Dream to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. My dh loves beer and I was thinking of surprising him with the beer mug package along with onboard credit to get the mug refilled. I have searched for prices, but have only found info that you get 22oz for the price of 16oz. Not the actual price....does anyone know what the average price of 16oz is? I am trying to guage how much online credit to get for him.

Thanks a bunch!
Tara

I believe the cost per beer is around $6.50. I think I read it was $5.75 plus tip. I could be off a little but this should get you in the ballpark.

Congrats on the 20th. We are also celebrating out 20th this July on the Fantasy..

That sounds about right.

It also depends on what kind of beer. I think I paid in the $7 for the O'Gills. Bud Light might be a bit cheaper, but I'd expect to pay around $6-7 range. The beer mug is a great deal if you plan to cruise again on Disney. Don't take the mug, just the card they give you (so you don't have to carry the mug) and bring it with you on future cruises. I easily made my money back and I don't drink that many. Plus, I can claim the mug any time I want.

Excited to learn about this too. Also celebrating our 20th anniversary on the Fantasy in July!

Wow apparently a Disney cruise is THE way to celebrate 20 years married lol! Congrats to you both :)

Thanks so much to all who replied. Very helpful information, much appreciated!

They have a very good variety and too many to post but if you will do an internet search for brands of beer on DCL Ships you will get the information you seek. Have a GREAT cruise!:sail:

Tried that! Could only find posts on the new alcohol policy and some 3-4 year old posts about beer selection. My Dh is kind of a beer snob and drinks weird, not your run of the mill brands. I wondered if the beer mug thing would be for him. I am kind of guessing it won't be!

It all depends on your definition of "good variety". If you're into craft beer then DCL is a wasteland. If you're into more than the standard AB InBev stuff, you're also going to be pretty disappointed. The closest I've gotten to craft beer is St. Stefanus, and you have to ask specially for it because they don't tell anybody about it. They *do* have some of the standard Cigar City beers, like Jai Alai, but nothing really special.

He's going to be sorely disappointed in the draft selection. It's horrid.
