When contestants on The Price Is Right are spinning the BIG WHEEL, they shout out "Thanks to just about everybody they ever knew"...WHY?
:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

It's not like they just won the Academy Award or something.

Why THANKS? Why are they thanking their next door neighbor, and for what?

Why not thank the poor shlub who pulled their name out of a hat that got them "TO COME ON DOWN!"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Sidenote: Dont you just love when someone spins the wheel and falls on their butt!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I thought they were saying hello. Doesn't Drew ask them if there is anyone they would like to say "hi" to and ...

WELL!

The name isn't drawn out of a hat, first of all.

Second of all, you get there at O'dark thirty, wait for two hours, fill out a form, then wait for two hours, then go to lunch, then come back for more waiting, then you get interviewed by the producers who get you all riled up think YOU are going to be picked, you wait another hour, then they usher you into the stage seating area, they YELL at you with flashing lights and loud music and once your named is called it is surreal and spinning that Big Wheel is just an insane feeling what do you expect them to do?

Sit down and have a cuppa tea?

Handbag Lady- Three times a contestant, three times never picked! (And I'm going again in three weeks!)

My favorite all time tv clip is on the Price Is Right.

It's a 1970 something clip and the women's name is called. Down she runs in her tube top. The faster she runs the more her ta ta's bounce. The closer she gets to the bottom the lower that top gets. By the time she is down to the bottom that top is around her waist. An everything is hanging out for everyone to see. :rotfl2: You don't see anything on camera, but you can tell what is happening in the last shot. Bob Barker's face is priceless. The camera then shoots back to the women who is being helped by a lady sitting in the front row. By that time the top almost back in place.

I  Plinko

Got it! Thanks!! I'll be checking into it.

Believe it or not, the producers interview everyone in the audience and pick the best ones they think will make good TV. I swear, the last time I went, I KNEW I was going to be picked. I was funny, excited, had the coolest hand-made T-shirt, I was ON FIRE. Even the people around me said, OMYGOD, you're getting picked!

But I wasn't.

(And I was joking too) But it really does get VERY exciting. They know human beings and they know how to get you all riled up.

Some of the people in the audience scare me, though. I can't imagine what would happen if they did just pick names from a hat. :scared:

And I'm going on October 19th. I'M GOING TO WIN A NEW CAR!

Oh, wow. Talk about a bad memory.

Two times ago we were seated on the outside benches facing another group of contestants. One of them had a slash through his contestant number. This number is how they keep the other Bettys or Sams straight. We asked why he had a slash.

This arrogant SOB said, "I was on last week and I won three cars and some appliances. Don't you know what the slash means? Did you not pay attention?"

We asked someone else and the slash means you are not eligible to win anythng or to be picked because you've already won on a previous show.

What a total moron. Turns out he was some nut fan who has been to 40 or so tapings and plans his life and vacation around TPIR. Memorizes shows and episode numbers, and prizes and get this, PRICES! :rotfl:

Me, in all my glory, told him he was being a jerk for taking up the space of someone in the standby line who DIDN'T win before and was eligible to win a new car.

Does it drive anyone else crazy when someone bids $1.00 more than the highest bid and wins?
