Price Increase

Just getting caught up on this.
I think it is a good deal for myself and DH since I will be going 5 times and DH 3 times.
DD and DGD 2 times for 5 days each.
What is the usual price increase?

Hmmm....now that you mention it, I do remember seeing something about a November activation in reading these threads, but that is not what the rep said on the phone. I clarified that about 3 times.....but I would go by what is in writing and not what a rep said. Off to look for the fine print......

Here's the thread where it's being discussed. I, and several other people, contacted disney for clarification and were told the vouchers need to be activated by mid-November to get the deal. However, I don't think the vouchers actually say that on them, so you could make an argument for having the deal honored in December. I just wouldn't rely on it.

DD and I currently have APs but do make use of the payment plan. They are up for renewal in May. I would hate it if they gave up the payment plan option as we wouldn't necessarily have enough time to save for the full price APs bewteen now and then. Sigh.... we've lived in CA for 10 years and have always had an AP. It's our one splurge item as we don't go to the movies or do a lot of other things like that.

Yesterday I got an email from Mickey Visit

Likely Disney Price Increases Coming Soon
Each year both Disneyland and Walt Disney World have increased their prices in the spring. This price increase is coming again!

Based on what I have been hearing, I expect prices to go up on all tickets and Annual Passports within the next two weeks.​

There of course is a link to (Get Away Today) to buy tickets now, but it is 'predicting' an increase soon.

Help 1st Disneyland visit this summer on the way to Aulani. We are staying at GCV.
I see price increase possible.
We will need a 3 day park hopper for 4 people. Didn't think about buying ahead because no magic band and advanced fastpass.

Should I buy online now and do I redeem at hotel? Or has to be the parK?
And do they expire if not used?
BUT My airfare to LA and Hawaii from NY is booked so we are going

Regarding your hoppers, look at Mousesavers.com to see where you can get the best deal. Some places are offering specials on multi-day park hoppers right now. If you purchase from one of those vendors, you will follow their policy for redeeming your tickets. If you purchase online directly from Disney, you can print out your tickets and take them right to the gates. There will be an expiration date at the bottom of the tickets (should be 12/31/17, but double check). However, DLR tickets retain their monetary value. So even if you cannot make it to the parks before the expiration date, but do visit after that time, you can take the tickets to the ticket booth, buy new tickets, and just pay the difference. Hope that is clear.

Finally have the update, only increases are for 1-day tickets ($2-$5 increase) and the Deluxe Annual Pass ($20.... from $599 up to $619 effective tomorrow)

According to this article the prices on multi-day tickets are also increasing, but it doesn't saw how much.

Well, it is for some. I had a CM at a ride tell me every time Disney increases prices the CM's who work in the parks get a raise....that made me feel better about shelling out more money at least.

Well at least that's something. I don't think any of the cast members will be able to retire early tho. Not those that work on what I refer to as the front lines. No one be fooled about that. Companies do not normally care about paying the average worker an actual real wage because they know there will be 20+ people waiting to take their place. Don't even get me started on the subject of fair wages, benefits and unions.

Most jobs offer annual raises, even in service positions. If you got a $0.25/hour raise you'd have to work 80 hours (typically 2 weeks) to earn the extra $20 to pay for the increase on a DAP. Put in that perspective this years increase wasn't too bad. Many people get raises more than that, and of course some get less.

For example, from my notes..before for a 4-day ticket it cost $280 for and adult and $265 for a child, now it shows $290 for adult and $275 for child.
Similar for park hopper...before was $320 for adult and $305 for child now it shows $335 for adult and $320 for child.

(Doesn't matter to us as we already bought our tickets but just curious)

They did go up, some by $15. I thought the multi day tickets were the biggest increase overall.
I was also wondering if the park hopping fee went up.

Park hopping did go up. It was a $40 fee, but now it's a $45 fee. The 4 and 5 day increase by $10 without hopping and the three day increased by $15.

I didn't want to stress over the increase so I bought 5 day park hoppers last week on Last Minute Travel. It appears the price there is still $282, so it looks like the increase hasn't been reflected there yet.
