Holy Toleldo! I just priced out a trip in October at the Contemporary thinking it would be a savings over what we paid for the Poly! Yikes, it seems prices have increased almost $2k from when we went in 2009. And that vacation included the park hoppers and MNSSHP tickets in addition to the Poly and the deluxe dining. This quote was just for room, basic tickets and the deluxe dining.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is it perhaps the week we are going? October 14-20th?

We noticed this as well, though with value resorts. We went in September 2009 and are now looking at a June 2012 trip, and it is $400 more but for one LESS night. It stinks!

Oh we noticed! It's crazy! We have only been twice 07 and 10 and it is a significant increase. We stayed moderate with the 2010 trip a split mod and deluxe. Forget the deluxe price now. Even a standard at WL and AKL is high. I just wonder if this is keeping people from booking. I know it has for us. We are now holding out for a fall promo because there is nothing now that makes it comfortable. We might be able to spend it but it doesn't mean we have to.

I have to have a monorail resort as DH is paralyzed. The Contemporary would be our last choice but we thought it was the cheapest. They don't have a single garden view room left for 10/14 - 10/20 so someone must be booking. We used a 40% pin code in 2009 and I'm hoping for another one or the ability to rent BLT points from a DVC member. The estimated cost this year with a decrease to basic tickets and w/o BBB and MNSSHP is over $2k more.

Has anyone successfully rented points before?

Is that Columbus Day week? Which coincides with Canadian Thanksgiving. That is a busy week at Disney.

Take a look at the rent trade board. Start looking soon as non-BLT owners can book at 7 months which is just a few weeks from now. I can look up how many points you will need if you like so you can get an idea of the total cost. Most people rent them out for $10-$13 a point.

Columbus day is the 8th of October.

Thanks so much! I've been watching the boards for months. I need 104 points as I've been told there is no standard view available for those dates. I fear that BLT will sell out as soon as the 7 month window opens. Sigh! Should have made the DVC purchase in 2009 when I wanted to...

Thank goodness Columbus Day and Canada's Thanksgiving is the week prior! A crowd is just not what we can do with my DH's wheelchair.
