Price increase to come??

Sorry guys didn't realize that content from that source was banned here. It was a photo of long lines late in the evening at the ticket booths. Just checked the website and no increase seems to have happened, so that's good news!

From twitter or a specific person on twitter?

I'm thinking it was a specific Disney news source. When you type their name here all you get is ***** so that leads me to believe it's them not twitter. But still not 100% sure. :earsboy:

I have no business expirence but I don’t think ticket prices where the problem in summer attendance. I think they blocked too many passes in anticipation of really large crowds that never came because of fear of really large crowds. Hollywood studios in Disney world has been packed since ROTR opened and I think we are gonna see the crowds this spring.
I don't think you can compare Disney World and Disneyland. For vacationing at Disney World people usually decide to go no less than 6 months in advance( I planned my trip 10 months in advanced and ended up being there the week ROTR opened). Disneyland doesn't require nearly as much planning - I was actually thinking of going for the opening as the days are still available to reserve if you have a Flex Pass(which I'm considering getting). I know the boarding groups have been going insanely fast the last 2 weeks but prior to that it was taking an hour. When I was at WDW(7 days after ROTR opened) we decided Not to do the 5am arrival at DHS we said we'd try and arrive about 1/2 hour after park open. We scanned in at 7:47am(park opened at 7am) and got boarding passes - mind you this was a day when the kids were still in school the DHS was busy not crazy busy.

I think the first few days boarding passes are going to go fast but after that I think we'll see it start to slow down.

Interesting to note from today's MP's DLR Update:

"It's been exactly one year since Disneyland last raised ticket prices, and quite a few readers contacted us in the past few weeks to ask if we expected another increase this weekend. After all, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is slated to open at Disneyland in just two weeks, and a price increase would not come as a complete surprise.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will open at Disneyland this month, so is a price hike on the horizon? Photo by Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix.

But as they say, no news is good news—and so far, there's been no sign of a price increase on the near horizon. That said, Disney rarely gives much, if any, heads-up before raising prices, and there's no reason to expect a courtesy notice that your next Disneyland trip might cost you more. If you're planning a trip in 2020, we recommend buying your tickets as early as you can afford to do so, to avoid any unexpected price hikes down the road.
It's also worth noting that while prices went up in January in both 2019 and 2018, the increases in 2017, 2016, and 2015 all came in February. The years between 2007 and 2014 saw the increase hit anywhere from May to September. Very recent history marks January as the time for price increases, but that's not Disneyland's historical pattern. With the Avengers Campus scheduled to open Summer 2020, we might see a price hike closer to that debut.
Also missing from the mix this week is the traditional spring California Resident discount. Disneyland frequently announces a promotional multi-day ticket this time of year for residents of Southern California and Northern Baja California, but there has been no word of the deal for 2020."

If you type in a website here and get *****, then that site is banned on the DIS. Whether you cite them from their website or from another source, the quote will be deleted.

This reminds me about last year...
I was really mad last year, having missed out buying the tickets early enough by just a couple of weeks (had to book flights first...and those weren’t available earlier)
But in the end the increase saved us about $800... I haven’t seen any reason to buy them way ahead of time after the increase.. so I haven’t bought the tickets till the weekend before the trip and the. just bought one ticket instead of three (because my parents had to cancel just a week before the trip) so that actually worked out...

Any ideas on if or when the next ticket price increase may occur?

Remember too that if ticket prices do increase by say 5%, that means that attendance could drop by roughly 4.75% and the revenue would be the same.

I think Disney will roll the dice with a small increase and see what happens.

i still remember the days when a ticket was $27-50 per day. Ahhhhhhh the good old days.

Can I buy these tickets for my parents as a gift? We live in Southern California, but they don’t. Can I buy them using their names and our address? I’m not trying to cheat the system, so if I can’t, no worries. We were planning on treating them to tickets and would love to save the money!

I believe there is another thread on here about the ticket deal but the short answer is no. You have to have proof of a Southern California billing address for both purchase AND admission.

PP is correct. Proof of SoCal residency (ID with address within the required zip codes) is required for purchase and admission according to the fine print on the DLR website.

Got it. Thank you!!!! I totally understand why!!!!

If an increase does occur how far behind are the other sellers (GAT etc)??

We are going for 5 days in May and wondering if we should just buy the tickets now.

Additionally, Is Get Away Today a safe solution?? It’s stressful spending this kind of money up front from somewhere other than Disney.

For what it's worth the current Canadian offer ends on 16th Feb. I think it's possible sometime after that.

I used GetAwayToday for years (I think probably 8 times since 2006) with zero problems whatsoever. Our last trip we booked our hotel through them but got our tickets through Last Minute Travel Club because there was a significant savings (family of 6). This time, we booked a hotel on our own with tickets through LMTC again. If tickets weren't available through LMTC for such a good price, we would be buying from GAT again.
