I just noticed the service charge went up to $10 at all DVC resorts.
Not to sound cheap, but bear in mind that's on top of the very high prices they charge for all items.
My question is, without a rental car, what grocery delivery services do you recommend and how does it work?
Either way, even if cost weren't the driver, I would order from one of those services before doing a DVC grocery stock; DVC's "shopping list" is quite limited. If DVC will actually *stock* your unit, though, it could still be worth doing. I don't know if they do this or not, but during a recent stay at Vistana, we ordered their Breakfast Pack, and it was placed in the fridge/cupboards before we even arrived. Not having to take delivery and put everything away was a very nice way to get a vacation started.
I do agree that you are going to get a better selection outside of Disney. However, their price list is very comparable to Garden Grocer. GG has Disney beat by 10-50 cents on most, but not all things. However, the difference was not as much as I expected. (That's according to the price list on the DVC site right now.)
Yes, the $10 delivery fee is a lot, but if you're in a pinch running down to the resort store isn't as much as you might think.
Yes, both will, but AFAIK you must be physically present to take delivery if there is alcohol in your order.Do they buy booze?
I prefer We Go Shop. It is much cheaper as they shop at the store you desire (for example WalMart) so you are paying the actual price, not the inflated prices from a list.
