Price Increase for Fireworks Cruises

good luck brettb I hope they got it right, for my booking on the 3rd the woman swore up and down to me that it was 150, but later in the day when they pulled my ressie they said I was given mis-information. Congrats on scoring the illuminations, that is awsome, how did you get that one? I have tried and tried and have finally given up and gone with wishes.

I just booked Illuminations for 10/4 and the base price is 234. which includes drinks and bagged snacks. We could add a Celebration package to it if we wanted.

brettb and denman are your cruises taking place before October 1st?

Mine is after Oct 1st.

So what is the difference in Breathless and the other Ill. cruises? Is Breathless cheaper?? Hold less people??[/QUOTE said:
Breathless does hold fewer people. I've read 7 is pushing it. It docks from yacht club and can go a little faster in speed. I think if I had my choice, I'd take the pontoon boat, but maybe I'll change my mind after. I did the pontoon boat last year.

Well, I just got off the phone. Blech. Joetta tried really hard for me - even spoke to a second guest services CM after she felt the first one wasn't too interested in helping.

She said the second one was eager to help but the computers would not let them book the pre-10/1 package (boat only, no snacks) at the $140.84+tax=$150 price and that my reservation was indeed for the $234.74+tax=$250 package that included snacks and drinks for up to 10 people.

What's interesting is that there are notes in the reservation file and the agent is supposed to note the price they quote to the guest. There was no such note in my file.

This is particularly frustrating because I'm sure I was given the the $140.84 price when I called at 7am on 7/3 and I verified the price when I called yesterday to confirm how many people the boat held.

If it weren't for DIS boards, we would have shown up, possibly with as many as 12 people, prepared to pay $150 plus a tip and found snacks, room for 10, and a bill for $250, not including tip.

Arggh! :confused3

I know what you are talking about brettb. We were not given a price at all when we booked until I finally interupted her hanging up and then was given the wrong price as it turned out. I had priced a few weeks earlier so we knew what we were getting into. I am not paying for this my mothers husband is doing it for her birthday and he is paying per my suggestion. I had to call him and tell him it was 50 more than what I had origionally told him. And that is only because we could not get the illuminations. That would have been 100 more. I can not believe how embarassed I would have been when he went to pay and it was $100 more, I guess I would have been pulling out my wallet. I think that when you book they should ask if you are aware of the new changes and pricing. I think we both experienced that no one would have even ever told us the price. I suppose maybe I should e-mail or call sombody to complain so this does not keep happening to others rather than just keep whining here.

I may write as well. That $100 price increase (if you exclude the value of the snacks & soda) amounts to a jump of almost 70 per cent!

I'm glad I found out now.... If I had found 6 (never mind 8!) people to share the boat with from DIS boards, it could have made for a nasty surprise to a lot more people than just me! I don't know if I'd show my face around here again!

Prices are subject to change, sure. And if I got there and found that the terms of the cruise were the same (no snacks, 12 total, 10 adults max) and the price had gone up 10% or so, I'd be annoyed but would deal with it.
