Price up and option to get an app instead of dessert gone. But can get an alcoholic drink. That isn’t good for me since I don’t drink and usually prefer an app

And in my case I am not doing it anymore because I’m definitely not giving them anymore money for it. I can still get great seats standby section without throwing that money at them

Agreed, the long line was intimidating so I did a dining package the first time and got good center seats, but chose to just do standby this past time and even though the line was at the Starbucks when I entered it, there was still plenty of seating by the time I got in. I saw people showing up 5 minutes before the show started and were still getting seated. Dining package is maybe good if you were going to eat there anyways and it's at the peak of summer crowds, otherwise why bother.
Just to be clear—
We have the dining package booked for October 5th, which we booked almost a month ago. The price on the package we already booked has changed? (ie They are not announcing that starting with bookings made 8/29 the price goes up?)
My question would be what if someone is gluten-free and eating at 50's Prime Time. NONE of their desserts are gluten-free. I'd hope in that case they'd allow that person to sub an app instead.

In the past, Disney has typically honored the price for dining packages when the ADR was booked. I have no idea if that is still true. You could call the dining reservation number to confirm (407-WDW-DINE).
