Price increase coming 10/9

I am not a big Star Wars fan, so I have not watched everything there but have watched all the Marvel shows. Marvel have been hit and miss but for me, I have liked more shows than I have hated.

The one thing I do wish, is that they do more animated series. I have enjoyed Monsters at Work and the shorts like Baymax and Zootopia. Have big expectations for the Win or lose Pixar show.
Hated is a strong word for how I feel about the Marvel stuff, but a LOT of them have kind of fallen apart at the end, even when I had enjoyed most of the series.

I afree on the aniumation. Monsters at Work was great! Also, the absolute best Star Wars they have done for D+ has been the animated stuff - the extra epissodes of Clone Wars, Bad Batch, etc. That's where they should focus.

The family shows are what Disney is for, but they don't get the buzz. All these 20 and 30-somethings watch and think they're so terrible, but, you know, it's not for them, even Star Wars. ask, Goerge - it's for kids! Or, as I like to say, the kid in all of us!

Gonna be real for a moment but none of these streaming services are worth what they're charging. Disney+ seems like the "worst" one out of the bunch due to the lack of really good originals. I'm not subscribed to any subscription service and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

The Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle is the only one we have and the only thing that has been getting watched on there since May is my youngest watching Good Luck Charlie and Hannah Montana. I know a lot of it is because it's summer and we just don't really watch any TV aside from bi-weekly movie nights (which we watch from my Plex server 99.9% of the time anyway) but lately seems like tossing cash out the window, especially with the price increases. Highly considering trashing it for now. Haven't had Netflix in years either. And no cable TV, just whatever the roof antenna picks up. I thought I would miss Netflix but I don't. I just stopped watching stuff. I honestly watch more of my YouTube channel subscriptions than any TV. Even stuff I used to like such as Mandalorian or some of the Marvel stuff, I just gradually lost interest in.

We cycle through all the networks and cancel as deals end - half the time at cancel, I get offered the same deal and re-up, but sometimes I don't, so we live without for awhile.

Weirdly, I have tried to cancel 6 month combo deals for Hulu/D+ that have been amazing...and then get reoffered the same deal at cancel (so I reup - now at 18 months). I'll be canceling again mid-Nov, so we'll see if the deal changes. If it does, I'll fully cancel. If it doesn't, it's worth what I pay now.

I had Disney+ with Verizon but honestly I haven't used it in a while. I haven't seen a reason to. I own all of the Disney movies I want to watch physically and I don't care about Marvel or Star Wars so those originals do nothing for me.

Totally agree about Youtube. I watch Youtube daily and find A LOT of enterainment value through it. For certain creators, I'll chip in for their Patreon due to their content being extremely high quality (ex. Jenny Nicholson). Other than that, I don't do any streaming services. I find other ways to watch the stuff I want to see *massive wink wink*

What I really think it is for people who want to go on a Disneyland or Walt Disney World vacation they save money for years and then when the time comes they find that Disney Parks raises the price on tickets and soon that long-waited dream to go will never come and people will not go and instead go to states to vacation such as Colorado Nevada New Mexico Texas and Arizona rather than a family amusement park. But when I think ticket prices get high and really high for Disney Parks are when they have special events and festivals such as Disneyland's Oogie Boogie Bash at Halloween the Epcot Food And Wine Festival at Epcot at Walt Disney World Pixar Fest at Disneyland and the RunDisney marathons at Walt Disney World and many other festivals and when people try to reserve rooms at Disney Resorts during these events and festivals the resorts get full and people cannot get rooms anywhere. As for the topic on Disney+'s price increase I think they want to get more subscribers to join and when Thanksgiving and Black Friday arrive in November we will see Black Friday deals for Disney+ for new members only and many other streaming services will most likely have deals too. And sometimes when you don't think it will happen streaming services will have surprise secret deals that you might've never known all along about. Which is what happened to my mom last week. You see Mom found an amazing deal on Netflix and she couldn't say no to this amazing deal and she got Netflix for a cheap price and LOVES Netflix already and we also got Frindly TV too as well which we are also are keeping because it has all my favorite cartoons and game shows and these deals popped up suddenly out of the blue. My father had Crunchyroll and I don't know what makes it expensive but my father was disappointed with it and we got rid of it. But what Disney+ should do is a Disney+ cartoons streaming service that would have all the 80's Disney cartoons ranging from The Wuzzles Ducktales Adventures Of The Gummi Bears to the 90's cartoons from Goof Troop to Bonkers The Little Mermaid The Series and Aladdin The Series and The Mighty Ducks cartoon would be featured as well and believe me it would be a huge hit

Since ads are becoming the thing now, check out Tubi. You can’t beat the price.

Disney vacations are increasing much more than inflation. However, it doesn’t seem to keep people from coming and spending money on extras. THe crowds seem to keep increasing. I really don’t know how families manage it, especially when they have more than 2 kids and can’t stay in one value resort. We used to go every two or three years, now we are stretching 5 to 6 years. We had to stay in POR because we were a family of 5. I have probably taken my last trip as a family now that my kids are adults and we have added a fiancée to the group. I keep thinking Disney will price themselves out of the family vacation market, but the parties that used to be $50.00/person are sold out even though they are close to $200.00. People are paying triple digits for the once free fastpass service, no free transportation from the airport yet people still come. The money I see people spending on Disney vacations when people are staying in Deluxe resorts, using the dining plan, paying for fast passes and parties will easily pay for a couple of year’s college education!

I honestly think they are getting an increase in the 20/30 yos with no kids or only kid, especially for all the special events! Family sizes are starting to shrink at a fast rate. It just isn't the same anymore.

Does dining plan prices stay the same for the whole calendar year? If so, with higher food cost, those plans might look even better. You read some people say "we thought of getting it, but it we would barely break even, so not going to bother".

Disney has raised ticket prices twice in the same year before. No idea if this will be one of those years, but it's always on the table.
Not even the most greedy company would announce a price increase the day before a major hurricane hit …. Or would they?

They might just let it go through but not announce it. I mean does Disney normally announce ticket price increases, or is it that all the bloggers notice and make posts about it.

I believe they do issue a press release. Its not just bloggers that pick it up. The national media usually reports on it as well.

I'm sure Disney wants to be sure the info is accurate, as well as put their spin on it.

Lol, I am pretty sure they would delay it. But, Disney is known for being a bit tone deaf at times. Such as with the recent lawsuit involving Raglan Road. And the right hand often does not communicate with the left. So anything is possible.
