We are going to WDW in April 2013. I am trying to find out what is a good price and what is a great have-to-book-immediately price so that when I see it I know that I need to book immediately. I haven't flown since before 9/11 so I am kinda out of touch. We will have 3 adults, a 4yr old and a not quite 2yr old who needs a seat. TIA!

Don't know about Austin specifically, but we used to fly Continental out of Houston for around $300 per person. It has been 2 yrs though, and I would guess that Austin is more expensive.

Look at the Southwest Austin and San Antonio flights. Sometimes it is cheaper from San Antonio. Plus currently San Antonio has non-stop and Austin doesn't (looking for December) But either way it will probably be around 360/375 per person roundtrip

It will be quite a while before WN releases their flight schedule for April 2013.

OP - You need to start searching airlines which have released their schedules to get some idea of what is a good price for this route and then grab the tickets when the price is what you are willing to pay.

Try using expedia.com, kayak.com or ita:

Continental is no more; it merged with United.

$225 round trip is a good price for Aus to MCO, I have done it 9 times.:) Oh I book the morning the fares open the fare never comes down in price. Good luck

When checking flights for my January 2013 trip this month, I found that flying Southwest (nonstop) out of Austin to MCO was $55.00 per ticket LESS than flying out of San Antonio. I only booked one way because the return flights hadn't opened for January 5th. I guess if I can't fly home I'll just have to stay!

We just flew JetBlue from AUS to MCO. It was $225 round trip per person, and I booked it as soon as the schedule opened for the dates. I kept checking and never saw the price get lower than that.

Obviously, Spring is not summer or fall. SxSW is in early March, as is AISD break, which should help keep April fares down.
