Price for 2011 Dinning Plan?

Does anyone know when the 2011 dinning plan prices and restaurants will be released?

I booked all of my reservations today for my January 2011 trip but I ran into a snag. When I booked Spirit of Aloha they asked for my credit card to pre-pay because I did not have the dinning plan on my reservation. I explained that they could not add it to my reservation until the prices were released. The CM then informed me that they will have to cancel all of my dinning reservations and try to rebook once the DP had been added to my reservation. We booked it all regardless and will ask for forgiveness later, at the CM's recommendation.

I'd like to know how much we will be paying and would also like to book my reservations 'correctly'.

Package details are usually released mid-August. No guarantees as to which particular day, but that's the usual time frame.

Has anyone encountered my situation where they had to book ahead of adding the dinning plan to their room reservation? Did they have any issues or did it work out in the end?

I got, what I think are, really good reservations and don’t want to lose them. All reservations are for 6, except 'date night'...

You can get refunded when you arrive and pick up your tickets for the dinner show. If you don't want to wait that long you'd need to cancel and rebook with a dining plan reservation. It may not work to avoid prepayment until you actually have a dining plan on your room reservation.

And they are completely incorrect telling you that you have to rebook all your dining reservations. That only applies to the prepaid ones and you can still get a refund when you get there if you want to keep the reservation and wait. For the others, it makes no difference whether you have a dining plan on your room reservation at all.

That's what I figured. I paid for the dinner show upfront and had no issue with it. I will ask for the refund when we pick up the tickets. I guess I was just looking for some reassurance

I had to pay oop for my CRT breakfast ADR for 1/15/11. My ta told me that morning of the 15th my credit card will be refunded for 188.92 and dining credits will be used to cover the meal. It stinks but I really wanted that ADR.
And my credit card was charged the very next day! Still awaiting the 2011 dining plan prices.

This is one of the flaws in the system. With ADRs open 6 months out the new information is not released in time and results in the difficulties mentioned above. That was not a problem with the 90 day ADR window (NOT that I want them to revert it to 90 days).

It's hard not to wonder if this is not done deliberately. Imagine how much money they must be putting in the bank to accrue interest for a good month or so before they refund it!

I can't imagine why you'd have to cancel all of your ADRs if you add the DP. The only way the meal is affected - with the exception of CRT and the shows - by whether you're on the DP is if you have to pay in advance.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Don't worry about getting the refund. When you pick up the show tickets you will get the refund. We did that for HDDR and got a credit on our room that we used for tips. We also had a CRT that we prepaid for and got the credit back to the credit card we charged it to.
